In the 1970's I shot a lot of apparatus photos and thought I would share one of the more interesting ones.  There were only three Baker tower ladders delivered in Canada.  The bodywork was built by Thibault on the Mack CF chassis.  The first was delivered to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in 1976 as their Tower 2, pictured here in 1978.  The second went to St. John, New Brunswick, which I never saw.  The third went to Verdun, Quebec in 1977.

Dartmouth, NS Tower 2 - 1976 Mack Baker Thibault 75 ft.

Verdun, Quebec Tower - 1977 Mack Baker Thibault 75 ft.  The truck was rebuilt in 1996 by Tibotrac on a Pemfab chassis.

Love the MACK Aerialscopes

Ian,

Love you're photos.   Here is Saint John's Truck 1.  I almost acquired this rig to restore it in 2005, but was unable to and this truck has met its maker and was cut up for scrap.

In February, 1978 I toured the Halifax, Nova Scotia Fire Dept.  At the time they ran a diverse, eclectic fleet.

Halifax, NS Engine 1 - 1975 Pierreville Imperial 1750/500

Halifax, NS Engine 2 - 1968 King Seagrave 1250/300

Halifax, NS Engine 6 - 1957 ALF 1050/500/40

Halifax, NS Engine 7 - 1967 King Seagrave 1250/300

Halifax, NS Engine 8 - 1975 Thibault Scot 1250/300

Halifax, NS Snorkel 2 - 1973 King Seagrave Scot 85 ft.

Halifax, NS Truck 8 - 1977 ALF 100 ft.

I believe this was the only 100 ft. rearmount ALF custom in Canada.

Halifax, NS Tanker 8 - 1970 King Seagrave Ford 250/1000

Good photos!

Great photos as usual Ian!

This was the first rig that I rode in - in a parade in 1961. But the Sterling siren was at the top of the windshield and the Mars light was on the rescue at that time.
Kingston, Ontario 1970 King Seagrave 100 ft.  I believe this is the only rearmount Seagrave ladder of this style in Canada.  Kingston also had the only ALF 90 ft. Aero Chief.

Kingston Township, Ontario - 1979 King Seagrave Scot 1050/200/75 ft.

Whitby, Ontario - 1972 Pierreville Mack 840/400/100 ft.

Edmonton, Alberta Aerial 6 - 1978 Pierreville Oshkosh LTI 100 ft.
