Here is new Boston Ladder 17. Its going to FDIC. It had ladder 29 markings on it but after the bombing they made the switch (apparently the bombing was in Ladder 17's first due area?)

  County Closes Vol. Fire Department
Posted by: YeOldeEnjine - 04-18-2013, 06:48 PM - Forum: Department Scuttlebut - Replies (16)

Effective 04/18/2013 at 1800 hrs. The Emergency Services Board of Allegany County, MD placed the McCoole Fire & Rescue Department Out of Service......

The previous McCoole district has been split between the Rawlings and Potomac Fire Companies along with the City of Keyser, WV FD who will provide automatic Mutual Aid in the box areas within the McCoole town proper.

This action was not a total surprise and is viewed as a necessary step towards a new direction for fire protection in this area.

Further information as it becomes available.

Tim Wilson,

Former Asst. Chief

McCoole Fire & Rescue Dept.

3rd Alarm Lancaster City PA 4/14/13 1720 hours
Posted by: Woody - 04-15-2013, 07:28 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (12)

On 4/14/13 around 1720 hours. Lancaster Bureau Of Fire was dispatched to the Red Rose Transit Authority on Erick Road for an Automatic Fire Alarm. Truck 64-2 arrived with heavy smoke showing  from a 7 bay bus garage and requested the remainder of the box to be filled along with striking the 3rd alarm assignment. I was on time constraints as I had to get my son back to his mother(he wanted to go to the fire Big Grin)  We were right up the street when the 3rd was hit so we got there within 10 minutes. Cause of the fire was a bus catching fire on the inside. Sprinkler system kept the fire in check.

Units on scene

Lancaster Bureau Of Fire(64)

Lancaster TWP Fire Department(66)

Willow Street Fire Department(50)

Manheim TWP Fire Rescue(20)

LEMSA(612)

Lancaster City Police Department

When I arrived

  Chicago FD X-Engine 59 - FOR SALE
Posted by: Cyber - 04-13-2013, 05:01 AM - Forum: Fire Station Photos - Replies (5)

The former home of the Hollywood Ridge Runners is up for sale, zoned as a small business type of deal.  It's a Chicago landmark so HOPEFULLY it will be well-preserved...appraisal price $350,000. They are still taking bids.

The HRR crew moved to a bigger house about a mile away but that station lacks the charm and elegance that this one has.  If I had the money in the bank to make a cash offer, I'd LOVE to call this place "home" and do my best to preserve it.

Tractor Trailer Cab Fire - Pikesville, MD 4/11/13
Posted by: Guest - 04-11-2013, 11:41 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (13)

Around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, April 11, Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Engine 321 and Tower 323 responded with BCoFD Station 14 (Brooklandville career) units to a reported tractor trailer cab on fire (Box 2-12) on Brooks Robinson Drive near Park Heights Avenue. BCVFA Car 56 (Former Captain Resnick) arrived and reported a fully involved cab.  PVFC units arrived shortly thereafter and firefighters made an attack on the fire.  Water resources were an issue as there are no hydrants along Brooks Robinson Drive; Engine 14 supplied additional water for Engine 321.  Owings Mills VFC Engine 312 was also requested for water supply.  Units remained on the scene approximately 40 minutes.
