  Photoshoping companies?
Posted by: Guest - 04-02-2013, 05:19 PM - Forum: Photography Discussion - Replies (3)

Does anyone know of companies out there who do photo shop work that are reliable and good?

I have a pic that I want a dead tree taken out of and dead grass made to look greener hopefully.  I want to use this photo for work but I just don't want to use it the way it is, and try as I might I just can't seem to follow any of the do it yourself videos on you tube.  I have PS5 but I just can't seem to get the hang of it.

Thanks,

Kris

Flashover at a Portland Fire 4-1-13
Posted by: Guest - 04-02-2013, 05:01 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (3)

At 1657 a box was transmitted for a commercial fire  at 5762 SE 82nd Ave.

E11, 25, 29 7, T25, 7 C3 & C4 responded. Rehab 12 was dispatched later.

The fire was in a wood frame building housing a barber shop. During the fire, the 2nd floor flashed over and fire

pushed down into the first floor where crews were operating. There were four firefighter injuries at this fire. One was

treated at the hospital for cuts to a knee and three others had minor injuries, one with a burn to the side of his face.

Thanks to Portland Police Sgt. Anderson for the first two photos he took with his cell phone before I arrived.

Don't have any info on it, but found this sitting in a parking lot in Bristol Twp., PA underneath the PA/NJ Turnpike Bridge.

Looks like it may be an small industrial rig for a Plant Fire Brigade.

100's of Classic FDNY Photos online!
Posted by: hoss - 04-02-2013, 04:07 AM - Forum: Fire Service Related - Replies (2)

NYC has just put online 800,000 photos! Of them there about 700+ FDNY photos within the bowels of this site the scanning resolution is outstanding. Prints can be bought although someone must be trying to make up for a budget shortfall with the outrageous prices they are charging.

1937 Ward La France, Searchlight #1 is an example of just one of these photos - amazing stuff. Hope they haven't broken any HIPPA Laws sharing these photos.  22_yikes

2nd Alarm Milford, MA 24 Water St March 28, 2013
Posted by: NRIfirePhotos - 04-01-2013, 08:56 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (13)

Milford, MA ~ A fire caused by an overheated laptop completely destroyed a two-family home at 24 Water Street on the morning of March 28, 2013. The 911 calls rang in around 0600hrs reporting a dwelling fire. The fire originated from the first-floor apartment of the two-story building, where a laptop had been plugged in overnight, causing it to overheat.  The laptop was also in direct contact with combustibles, possibly a cardboard box filled with clothing.

Engine 3 arrived to find a heavy smoke condition from the front door with fire beginning to vent from the Side D windows. A Box was requested to be struck to recall the off duty firefighters. Ladder 1 positioned in front of the building to vent the roof. Attack lines went into operation through the front door into the fire apartment.

The fire was rapidly spreading upwards as the bedroom flashed over. The heavy overlapping fire spread upwards along the vinyl siding to the soffit and attic. Companies operated on all floors as the fire in the attic intensified. A second alarm was ordered bringing Franklin, Hopedale, and Bellingham to the scene or to cover. Command radioed that they had a few minutes left of interior attack as the fire was now blowing out of both gable ends.

Heavy black smoke was now billowing upwards into the sky as the roof was now fully involved. The OIC gave the order to evacuate the structure as conditions deteriorated. Milford Ladder 1 opened their waterway into the blaze along with several exterior hand lines. The bulk of the fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes of master stream operation.

The fire was placed under control around 0830hrs. The building was determined to be a total loss. All of the occupants and pets were safely evacuated without injuries.
