The other day the Clark County Fire Department was at the complex I work at on a Medical Call. Engine 15 was on the scene and I was able to get a short Vid and a couple pictures of the rig. Sorry for the quality but I do not take my camera to work.

Subscription renewals are down, and haven't covered the server rental for the first three months of 2013.  If you know anyone looking for an EMT Course in the Boston/South Shore area, please consider EMS Academy, as the money I make there is what is now covering the shortfall.

 

EMT-Basic courses start the second week of April and run for 12 weeks, course cost is $900, and includes the State Practical Exam Site fee, which most other schools charge $150 for.  Financing is available.  Classes are 9AM-1PM and 6PM-10PM Monday/Wednesday in Marshfield and Tuesday/Thursday in Quincy with Friday (day course) or Saturday (evening course) classes every other week from 9AM-4PM.

 

I am the instructor of the day course in Quincy, and other courses are taught by Kevin O'Connor (retired Captain Boston EMS), Dennis Sullivan (Deputy Chief, Plymouth Fire) and Ronald Estanislao (Boston Medflight).  It is probably the most experienced instructional staff in the area.

Firefighters from West Bridgewater assisted by Easton, Brockton, East Bridgewater, Bridgewater and Raynham battled this tractor trailer loaded with new tires at a local tire warehouse. A line of 20 trailers all full were in danger of burning as crews used several handlines and a ladder pipe to knock the flames down. Special calls were put out for 3 foam trailer 1 each from raynham, Dighton and Randolph. Crews were on scene for about 3 hours overhauling.

Fire started in the former Key Largo Hotel and Casino.  Clark County was assisted by Las Vegas FD.  I saw 5 aerials in operation at one point.

Around 0645 Gresham Engine 73 was dispatched to a residential fire at 22255 Borges Rd. in Boring.

Boring is a community in Clackamas county south of Gresham and southeast of Portland.



The Boring Batt. chief reported a 2-story farmhouse with smoke showing and fire on the Delta side.

Since there were several vehicles in the driveway and no one was answering the door, it was feared

there were victims inside, so he ordered two more engines to assist with searching. Portland Engine

29 and Clackamas County Engine 6 were dispatched at 0653. The Gresham and Clackamas Batt.

chiefs also responded. The first in crew reported fire on the first floor had burned through the floor

into the basement and through the outside wall.



Later, it was learned the family was away.
