  The other stuff I shoot.

As you all know, I photograph a fair number of fire apparatus, but occasionally, I shoot other things.  I am a fan of many "large, loud, shiny objects", to quote The Silent One.  Here are some of them.

I recently met up with Eric Fellows (Eric's Fire Pics) along with our sons for a weekend tour of Onondaga County in central New York.

Onondaga County is a diverse county, with a very active urban department (Syracuse) and a large number of volunteer and composite stations covering dense urban to very rural districts.

Friday afternoon we met at the Plainville Fire Department station 1, where the department brought all 7 vehicles from their 3 stations together for group photos.

Engine 4 runs from station 1 and is a 2012 Spartan/4 Guys 1750/1500

After much talk from GA_Dave, I finally remembered to create an account here! My name is Avery Guthrie. Like Dave, I am based out of metro Atlanta. I've been photographing rigs since middle school (I'm about to graduate college now), but just got a professional camera last year. Since then, I have shot many rigs around metro Atlanta and all over, sometimes even with Dave.

Here are is a link to my SmugMug with all my shots: averyguthrie.smugmug.com

I'll start with one I took on a spring break trip this year down to Florida.

Here is Ladder 4's sister at Ladder 1, painted differently like all apparatus at Station 1. Same specs.

Finally, a local rig to Atlanta.

I'm in need of lots of votes.

My non-profit For 3 Sisters in a competition to win a $25,000 grant being given by State Farm Insurance to each of the top 40 competitors. Out of 200 currently left in the competition (started out with 2,000!), For 3 Sisters was number 34 as of this morning … and was as high as number 4! Some of these competitors are pulling in a lot of votes, so we really need your help to keep For 3 Sisters in the top 40. That $25,000 will help a lot of people!

The winners are determined by the number of votes they receive, and each voter can actually cast 10 votes each day between today, and Aug 23. If you could, please take a minute to help, www.f3s.org/vote
