  Fire Department Maps
Posted by: grubber33270 - 01-08-2018, 12:54 PM - Forum: Fire Service Related - Replies (3)

Over the past few years I have been working on a map of all of the Fire Stations in Minnesota. I started off one day with just the metro area one thing led to another and eventually I got up to 950 Station locations mapped. I am still adding a couple of those small cities in the middle of no where But I feel I am at a point where I can share it below is the Minnesota Map.

The girlfriend and I have gone on 3 cruises out of Miami FL, everytime we fly in I its usually a day early or we stay a couple of days after the cruise. I was going to stop in at a couple of the Miami Area fire stations on this last cruise but My camera had an unfortunate accident. anyway I started mapping just Miami dade county, and around that area. one station led to another and I am nearing 1000 stations for FL and still have quite a ways to go for the state. for FL it was a bit more difficult as I am 1000's of Miles away I use everything I possibly can to locate stations. corrections are welcome.

I am willing to share these maps, but If I start hearing of people claiming them as there own, they start bashing my work or I just feel like my work on these just was a waste of time. I will remove access for others to view them. I am the only one who has access to edit them.

Here is the FL Map: I started doing different color dots in the Miami dade county area to designate the different departments but quickly realized that this would be the same for each county so I scrapped that idea.

1-1-2018 LAS VEGAS, NV STRUCTURE FIRE
Posted by: nozzleman - 01-02-2018, 12:24 AM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (7)

Around 4:50 p.m. (exact time of alarm 4:53 pm) Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Units were toned out for a structure fire at 5816 Vegas Drive. Fire Dispatch stated that they had received numerous calls and could hear screaming in the background, they also stated that there was one person reported trapped in the structure. I headed out hearing that and all they way there I listened as Command was dealing with a large amount of fire. By the time the first arriving companies were on the scene the person trapped had managed to escape the structure. Two people were treated and released on the scene for Smoke Inhalation and a pet Cat perished in the fire.

At one point and time Command called for Engine 3 (Which now has the 2014 Pierce Quantum Snozzle that use to be Engine 1) to deploy their Snozzle. The Command office was worried about exposures and special called two additional Engine Companies.

This is what I saw as I walked up to the scene. The fire attack crews called Knockdown just as I was walking up.

Ok so today we were dispatched to a factory under construction for a fire. I arrived first and took command. I got first arriving companies going to work and then turned over command to the COD when he arrived. I then took a few photos and later added them to the departments face book page that i run. This was about 1300. At 1800 i watch the local evening news and what do i see. The news station stole all of my photos and used them on the 600 news.

What pisses me off is they never gave me or the department credit.

So I have created a couple of Maps for Fire Stations I was looking at sharing them. It will not even allow me to post the link for the google maps? Curious as to why this is or how I would be able to share them?
