1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - ifightfire - 07-02-2011 I have been looking for a while, I picked up this beauty from the original owner, the Freeland Fire Department in Freeland Luzurne county PA. It had a full refurb in 1994 including paint, alcoa buds, 750 gallon tank. In 1997 the 1000 GPM pump was replaced. I can not tell you how well this thing was taken care of, less then 20,000 original miles on the 8V71 detroit. I have alot to learn but can't wait to hit the show circuit in Central PA. 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - Guest - 07-02-2011 Wow, she's a beauty. You ok with Reg., plates, insurance? Any questions right here is a good place to ask! Looks like I might be going to the Schuylkill County convention in Minersville towards the end of August if you want to add that to the list that I already sent you. 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - Guest - 07-04-2011
pre refurb pik
Do a search on Flickr.com for "Seagrave Freeland", there is a photo of it pulled half way out of the house. 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - Guest - 07-04-2011 I grew up in Hazleton, PA, just to the west of Freeland. I remember this rig from new. One of the best equipped and set up engines I've seen. Freeland has always been meticulous about their rigs. Always spotless, hose well packed, tools mounted. 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - ifightfire - 07-04-2011 I wish I could make it on Saturday but I am scheduled for work. I really need to find some equiptment and I hear that is a great place. I spent the weekend polishing the wheels, doing some general maintenance, and of course driving it around and showing it off. I took some good staged photos and will post them soon. Thanks for the words of encouragement. I feel like a kid at Christmas. 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - Roto-Ray - 07-04-2011 Congrats on your purchase! I'd seen this rig for sale on the internet and hoped that it would make it's way to a good home, and it seems as though it did. Keep us abreast of it's progress. 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - wardengine - 07-05-2011 another hugh mcgeehan pre refurb photo i have more trying to locate for you TOM b i didn't know this was for sale yet, i knew KME was ordered to replace it , i thought they had it in service until KME got in service 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - wardengine - 07-05-2011 found a few more for ya (Hugh McGehan Photo) taken at 6 county convention parade in plymouth pa late 70's early 80's (Hugh McGeehan Photo) 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - ifightfire - 07-05-2011 Tom, thanks for the pics. They had a few hanging in station when I picked it up on Friday but they were all head on shots. They took it out of service after a big fire around Memorial Day weekend. They pumped it for hours but were having some pump issues so they decided to take it OOS. They also had a little boo boo pulling out of station for that call and cought the drivers rear fender and strobe light on the side of the building. (kinda a shame but I like the battle scars and the fact that it happened on it's last call) KME should be done in August sometime. They priced a Seagrave but it was over $120K more money. 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - Guest - 07-06-2011 Here are some shots of it that I got last year at the Fire Buff meeting 1974 FWD/Seagrave engine - Guest - 07-16-2011 Here are some more pics of your Engine.
