Couldn't find a thread for Dallas FD apparatus after multiple searches, so I figured I'd start one. If one exists, please merge this thread into that one.

First off is this unique Ward LaFrance that sits at the shops. Don't know the disposition.

Dallas FD Wrecker. I hope to shoot some more front-line Dallas apparatus when I have some time (and gas money), as well as other apparatus from around the Metroplex. But this was just a quick trip through and all I've got for now.

Is this a first for Dallas? (first ever Tower Ladder?).

I found a photo of it here....now I have a reason to return to Dallas!

Thanks for the info, Ronnie!!

So, I assume then Dallas currently operates rear mount tower ladders? (Obviously, I'm not familiar with the department)

I really do hope they restore that Ward, as it's such a unique piece.

I'm planning a trip there to shoot as much diverse apparatus as time allows.

Next up is 40's brush rig.

Ambulance 40. I was told that this rig is only staffed part time for now...

Unit 801. I think this was a Battalion Chiefs vehicle, but I can't remember.

Last one from the Big "D". US&R 19, partial shot. I'm kicking myself for not getting more pics from Station 19, but they made one heck of a dinner for us and shared some great stories.

Dallas only operated one tower ladder. photo is above It was a Truck 18 lime green and then I remember it being repaint white over red and went to Truck 20 where it retired. I believe it has been disposed of it was a 1981 Pierce Arrow LTI no pump. Dallas then did not have a Tower Ladder unit the new Crimison midmount was delivered. Dallas operated a number of Snorkle and Hi Rangers over the years.

Seth, Ronnie is the man that can give us the best DFD info, but FYI, DFD operates a lot of mid-mount aerials and a few tillered aerials if I'm not mistaken (T3, T20, T39, T57). I don't think they have but a couple rear mount aerials if that. Also, there is another batch (19 or 20) 2008 Ford F350 Wheeled Coach "rescues" on order at this time.

John you are correct. Large amount of mid mount LTI's although the rear mount have begun to make more of a presence. The tiller fleet is biger than ever five if I remember right. For many years Truck 3 was the only tiller. The last chief purchased or had plans for five or six and I think if he had not left Dallas more would have been purchased. Thank goodness no Quints all pure Trucks. Stay Safe.
