Hey everyone, you may remember this spring the first half of a massive fire apparatus collection was auction via sealed bid. Well now the rest is going up via live auction on Saturday. I just found out via my fiance (who despite repeatedly telling me I don't need a fire truck thinks I oughta go) I listed the site that has the photos on it below.

As noted with the last one it looks like no one has touched these things since they were bought, but it looks like 2/3rds of them were kept inside at least. Some are more complete than others, and there are 2 ALF Tractor Drawn Aerials up for sale. Along with a Pirsh and a Maxim (apparently they're getting a lot of calls about it). Don't know if I'll get back home in time to go, or if there would be anything in my current toy budget...but there it is for what it's worth.

Well, that makes 3 of the 10 open-cab CF Macks that I know of.......

And the yellow ALF Tiller looks like an ex-City of Pittsburgh piece.

Oh, they have definitely been touched. Photos taken prior to the first auction show that many pieces have been removed prior to inspection. We found out there are in fact 14 semi-cab CFs. And the ALF is from the steel city.

you guys gonna pick up the Monarch CF? would be a nice set of triplets. It should go cheap. I would try for it, but it doesn't have a roof, and I would need that if I bought it-since I would be living in it! good luck!

Mike

I meant more in the restortation/mechanical sense. I doubt anyone started them once a month, changed the oil, and fixed any problems they had when they came out of service. I can see from the photos that some were stripped of equipment, and some of lights and other emergency equipment. I'm in lower Michigan waiting to see how I'm planned to get home this weekend, so I still don't know if I can make it or not. Never been to a fire truck auction before, been to plenty of police equipment auctions so I don't really know what to expect price-wise. I just know what a few members here who stated what the paid for their rig or seen on eBay and figure canibalized, AS-IS/WHERE-IS - who knows when they ran last, they can't go for anything impressive. Or I could be totally wrong and I'll spend the morning with my jaw on the ground in shock.

I can tell you that the rigs vary from 'needs flatbed to move' all the way to 'drive it home'. The South Brownsville Seagrave ladder from the first auction has been driven to numerous events already.

The Rest of the Collection Goes to the Block - NationalPoliceCarArchives - 08-04-2006

Well I am hitting the streets on my way home, so I will be in attendence at the auction. Anyone who's going my photo is in the "Faces of FirePics" section, and I'll have a hat that has an American Flag on the brim with "Bavarian Motor Transport" logo on it dragging around a young lady who'll be silent whispering that nothing that runs goes low enough for me to buy and tag up this weekend <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Due to the fire scare at pechins, you WILL NOT be aloud to..

1. work on any trucks on the property

2. attempt to start any vehicle

3. any vehicle will have to be towed off property within a few weeks.

Also the price of scrap crashed so there wolnt be many scrap dealers.

As stated in my "New Toy" post I bid and won the MVFD Scuba Unit. The McKees Rocks C didn't go for anything, apparently it didn't reach appraised value so they declined to sell it.
