Skip, got any more from this area that you could post? I'm heading there the week of Feb. 15 and am hoping to do some buffing but other than what's in the city of Charleston, I've got no clue what's in service in the other area departments. Thanks in advance!

I don't have any pics, but I did visit several fire stations when I was there about 6 years ago. Sullivans Island was running E-Ones at the time. There are several stations in North Charleston, their newer units are KME's and ALF's. Check out www.SCONFIRE.com for more information on departments in the area

Charleston has a good variety of apperatus. E-ones, Sutphens and a few older Macks as reserve . Also try St. Andrews fd on the eastside they just replaced their whole fleet with Seagraves. 3 engines, a ladder and a rescue. North Charleston replaced a few of their older trucks as well with KME's. NCFD also has a New American Lafrance Haz-mat unit at station 3. You also might want to go to the American Lafrance fire museum in N. Charleston. It is located at the Tanager Outlet Mall.

Clinton Ladder 1. Not sure the year, 1978 I think. I know a dreaded in the house shot, but it is no longer in service, due to failing a ladder inspection. They have a new KME ladder on order. They should receive it in about 3 months. Can't wait.

Why did they sell Ladder 7 the 2000ish Pierce Mid-Mount Stick? It came through our Pierce dealer here in Kansas City before going to sale. Any reason it looked like a very nice rig.

Stay Safe, Rick
