When this rig was repainted to honor the "343", it was supposed to be given to every station for at least a shift or two. But the higher ups saw that it was putting on a LOT of miles and pulled it from the tour of stations and went back into the reserve pool as E5166. Then late last year, they decided to reassigned it to E5118 and use it only as a Public Relations rig. Los Angeles County Fire Dept - Engine5161 - 05-06-2007 The L.A. County rig painted in FDNY colors is actually an ex-El Monte rig, not an ex-Covina rig.
