Part of Sheriff Jerry Speziale's fleet! Those of you around the country, especially in the I-81 corridor of Virginia, may remember the story that the media carried in the fall of 2005. Seems that members of this sheriff's department returning to NJ from mutual aid duty in New Orleans were caught driving on I-81 at very high speeds with lights and sirens. Reportedly the Sheriff himself, elected as a Democrat, contacted officials in Virginia complaining "lack of professional courtesy." Other officers from NJ who went to New Orleans in later weeks reported that our state attorney general, a Democrat, addressed them telling how he had to apologize for those actions.
I am from a Morris County NJ town that borders Passaic County. I must say that I know many PC Sheriff's officers who would never take such actions.

I wonder if one of these suv's was the one destroyed in the wreck when Governor Corzine was being drivern at 91 mph on the Garden State Parkway a few weeks ago. The good news is that our governor, is doing much better although still hospitalized. He said that the medical bills will come out of his $400 million fortune not the state treasury and that he will pay the $45 fine for not wearing a seat belt.
