WOW! What a collection! Great pictures.

This rig is definitley up there on the list for me with the likes of

Crowns and Hahns. Who didn't run this piece?

I think the Brookfield Twp. truck is the first time I've ever seen a WLF with a mid-mount tower.

Here's something a bit different. This rig was built this way to match a fleet of Ward LaFrance pumpers in Rome, GA. The aerial and bodywork are all Pirsch. If any of our Pirsch experts have the serial number for this one, please send it my way. Thanks!

taurudak additional info:

This Ward LaFr was delivered in March, 1974. In 1992 it was refurbed by a local body shop. On 12-24-05 the vacant Garden State Tannery building in Fleetwood was struck by fire. This Ward pumped for hours at that fire.

taurudak additional info:

This is supposedly the first Tele-Squrt mounted on a Ward LaFr chassis on the east coast. In 1994 it was sold to a fire co. in Oregon. It was flat bedded to that location arriving while a major blaze was in progress. It was unloaded and taken to the fire before it could be placed in the company's station.

Note the large diameter hose reel on the back.[/quote]

taurudak additional info:

This was the first pumper in the Bucks County area with top-mount pump controls. It had two reels at the rear which were loaded with 2000 feet of 4 in. supply line. In 1986 it was rehabed by 3-D which included removal of the rear hose reels. In 1995 it was sold to Jackson Twp.(Luzerne Co.),PA.

Technically, it couldn't have been, it's not a Tele-Squrt. The Tele-Squrt was a product of the Snorkel Fire Equipment Company. The device on the George Clay WLF is a Teleflow, a similar device built exclusively for WLF by Reading Techmatic. It's possible that this was the first Teleflow on the east coast.
