Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Lets try Old Boat 12 again. 2003 Triton Sold to Dauphin-Middle Paxton Fire Company Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Pictures for today will focus on Dauphin County Company 13 - Halifax EMS. First is Old Ambulance 25 of the Halifax American Legion Ambulance Association. Halifax EMS evolved out of the American Legion. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Then in 1973 the Halifax Area Ambulance and Rescue Association was organized. They were given number 13 as they were no longer affilited with the Halifax and Community Fire Company. Here is Old Ambulance 13. Dodge Van Ambulance Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Next up is Old Ambulance 13-1, later reletted 13-A. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Next up is Old Ambulance 13-B. 1974 Dodge Van Ambulance Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Next is Old Ambulance 13-2. 1978 Ford Econoline Van Ambulance. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Next up is Old Ambulance 13-B, later to be relettered 13-2. 1980's Ford/Road Rescue. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Next up is Old Ambulance 13-1. 1992 Ford/AEV. This unit was replaced in January 2003 with a 2003 Ford/Braun Chief XL Ambulance. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Next up is Old Ambulance 13-2. 1994 Ford/AEV. This unit was replaced in January 2006 with a 2006 Ford/Braun Chief XL. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Halifax EMS also ran a few specialized units. First was Old Boat 13. Sold in 1994 to an unknown source. Not the greatest picture of the boat, but is the only one I could find of it. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 They also ran this 1969 Station Wagon as a Squad. Old Squad 13 = 1969 Station Wagon. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Halifax Area Ambulance was the first and last EMS Company in Dauphin County to run a rescue, the other EMS Company being Hummesltown. Halifax EMS was also had the first set of Jaws in their response district. This is Old Rescue 13. On the back of the picture it said it was a 1953 Ford which I know is not right. It looks more like a 1970's Ford. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 They also ran a second rescue. Old Rescue 13-1. 1952 GMC Deuce and a half. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Then in 1979, a 1979 Chevrolet chassis was purchased and the utility body from the 1970's Ford rescue was remounted on the 79 Chevy chassis. A few months after the utility body was mounted, a homemade canopy was built over half of the body to enclose it in. Old Rescue 13. 1979 Chevrolet/1970's Ford Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 This picture was posted in this thread earlier, but I am reposting it here with more information. In the mid 1980's the 70's ford Utility body and home built canopy were taken off the 1979 Chevy chassis and a enclosed utility body was purchased and mounted on the chassis. Old Rescue 13 - 1979 Chevrolet. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-06-2007 Then in 1994, the utility body was taken off the 79 Chevy chassis and was remounted on a 1995 Ford chassis. This would prove to be the last rescue run. In 2000, Rescue 13 was placed out of service for good. The reasoning behind it was it running under 100 calls a year, and the Halifax Fire Department also now had their own set of Jaws. The truck was sold to a member of the company who repaitned it dark blue and now uses it as his work truck. Old Rescue 13 - 1994 Ford. Keystone State Relics - engine216 - 05-07-2007 Pics for today. First is Company 20 - Millersburg Area EMS - Still in service today. Old Ambulance 20-A.
