This was called "Engine 6" from what I remember. It might have been a "second section" when they use to run with

the old "Hi-Ranger" Snorkel or ran still alarm calls as a brush unit. Woburn does not have a Batt Chief so it would not

have run like that.

Quote:"First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it." Amen

Thank you, Brother Maynard! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Hysterical' />

I know for a time the Commonwealth MEs had blue lights then I think they went to yellow.

In Va they have (get this) PURPLE. I have not seen this myself but others on this list have.[/quote]

There is legislation filed for them to have purple lights...I believe it is still in committee

It's pretty late in the session, it probably won't make it out of committee before they break for the year so it's dead in the water....

AH.... STOP.... No More Talking about the lights.... Let it go....

And now a trip in the way back machine......

ENGINE-2, was a 1976 Dodge, Pierce mini pump. It was bought by then Chief of Department Edward Callahan. The reason it was yellow, was because during that time, slime yellow was the experimental color. Shortly after this was purchased, Engine-3s 1951 Mack (ex engine-4) was painted slime as well.

It started its career at Station-5 in the West side , with engine-5 and Ladder-2. It was used as a quick attack piece.

In 1981, the south end fire station was opened, and it was stationed there with Snorkel-1, which was a 1966 Ward Lafrance high ranger. It was in deplorable conditon, so they would take the pump on still alarms. In 1983, Station-7 with Engine-7, was renumbered Engine-2. This made the Pierce unoffically Engine-6, as it was never renumbered, but referred to as Engine-6 as Jimmy said. In 1987, it was the departments spare piece, and was sometimes used for the woods fires at Horn Pond Mountain.

In 2003, it was junked, and sits in a junk yard in Norfolk if anyone is interested. They guy wants $2500 for it, but hes smoking something, because the truck is hurtin for certain.

Hope this answered your question.... We also never had a battalion chief, and are lucky to have a captain.
