Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 Quincy Reserve Rescue 1 1985 IH S-Series/Knapheide No Serial Found The only lime green rig left in the fleet. This rig will also be disposed of. Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 Quincy Aerial Platform 1 1991 or 92 Duplex/Grumman 1500/200 102' RM Platform I have my doubts about this being totally completed by Grumman as this rig was delivered around the time Grumman was ceasing operations and no one I talked with on the department remembered either. There were no Grumman emblems to be found. Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 Next deparment i go to was Tri-Township, which is located on the east side on Quincy a couple blocks south of Broadway and just west of I-172. Tri-Township is a combination deparmtent running out of 1 station with 2 engines, 1 pumper/tanker, 1 rescue/command rig and 1 brush rig. Tri-Township Engine 1 1997 Pierce Saber 1250/1000 EA-442 Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 Tri-Township Engine 2 2002 Pierce Contender 1250/1000 Serial# 2928429 Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 Tri-Township Tanker 3 2005 HME/Alexis 1250/2000 Serial# 1890 Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 Close up of the mural on the porta-tank compartment. Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 Tri-Township Rescue 4 2008 FL/Alexis No Serial Number Found Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 Tri-Township Brush 5 2008 Ford F-350/Alexis slide in unit 150/250 Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010 While scanning my dad's slide collection occasionally I come across stuff that surprises me, especially fire pictures. Tho he was on the job 33 years, 20 of them as Chief he was more of a train buff then fire buff. With that being said here's a shot of what in a years time from when the photo was taken would be his first chief's buggy. This was a 1971 or 72 Buick Estate Wagon, probably one of the biggest POS ever turned out by GM. The second car inline was the A/C's car, a 1969 or 70 Buick Vista Cruiser. Illinois - Guest - 03-20-2010
Here are a few experiments from my attempts at scanning my slides with my new scanner. I may have posted this before but I still think this is such a unique rig it bears reposting even tho the shot is not the best. This is one of I believe 3 snorkels built by Seagrave. This is Melrose Park Snorkel 705. This is one of the few times I ever saw it on a call and I never did witness it working. I shot this sometime in 1982 according to the process date on the slide.
Cool rig!!!! I brightened it up some what. Hope you don't mind Dennis. Matt "W" Illinois - MFD76 - 03-20-2010
Cool rig!!!! I brightened it up some what. Hope you don't mind Dennis. Matt "W"
Did Melrose staff this rig or was it cross-staffed. Great photo's Dennis please keep posting. Stay Safe, Rick Illinois - Guest - 03-20-2010 The Quincy Tower was finished by KME, it was basically already done when operations ceased and iirc it was delayed by 6 months or so because of it. I may have to try to put dibs in on the Quincy LaFrance. Illinois - Ladder 68 - 03-20-2010
Quincy Engine 8 1980 Ford C/Pierce 1000/500 Serial# E-0692 This rig will also be disposed of when the Ferrara's are delivered.
Possibly Ex-Engine 3? Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010
Did Melrose staff this rig or was it cross-staffed. Great photo's Dennis please keep posting. Stay Safe, Rick
More often the not there was probably one guy assigned to dirve it to the scene. Dennis Illinois - photog999 - 03-20-2010
The Quincy Tower was finished by KME, it was basically already done when operations ceased and iirc it was delayed by 6 months or so because of it. Dennis Illinois - Guest - 03-20-2010 I guess I know what you did after I talked to you on the phone Dennis. That pic of your Dad's buggy looks like it was taken on your parents block. Illinois - karl4700 - 03-22-2010 Here's a few rig shots from a 2-11 alarm in University Park this afternoon.
