Empire State Oldies - Guest - 03-15-2010 Empire State Oldies - GA_Dave - 03-15-2010 Quote:Main Transit F.C. of Amherst NY ran this Continental top mount pumper. Anyone know the year, pump, tank and is that an Oshkosh chassis? I don't have the year, but I have it as a Duplex chassis. It's a 1500/1000. Nice looking B&W's! Empire State Oldies - Guest - 03-15-2010 thanks for that Dave! I do because they are over 10 years old. If you have any information on anything I post, please feel free to help. I don't believe they ever ran a Ladder 42, either. All of their ladders were called "trucks". They also had "N.Y." on most of the rigs that did not have the metal plaque on the door. Empire State Oldies - Guest - 03-18-2010
Do you think these late rigs belong here or the New Youk thread? I do because they are over 10 years old.
The "sub-title" of the New York State thread says "Current apparatus", so if the rig is still in service, I'd say it goes there. If basing it on age, I'd say that 20-25 years would be a more appropriate cut-off point, as "most" rigs are usually replaced somewhere in the 18-20 year range, and 25 years old constitutes an antique. I'm thinking it kinda has the Rochester, NH, or the Rochester,MN look to it, perhaps GA Dave knows for sure. Rochester MN runs two dry Truck Companies one Ladder and one Tower. Also featured on page 60 in Larry Shapiro book Aerial Fire Trucks.
