The local KME dealer has the rig out showing it off before its delivered to LA. Should be out there within a few weeks. I thought it was pretty neat to shoot an LA rig here in North Carolina!! I even got to drive it! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Los Angeles County (CA) Fire Dept. It was on a Mack MR or MC COE chassis, and I believe it had no pump. I think it was a former ARCO rig, donated to LACoFD. There is a huge ARCO refinery in the Carson/Dominguez area (127's & 10's first-in area). Best to all, Mike Los Angeles County Fire Dept - Guest - 05-27-2007 [quote name='Mike Mynahan' post='112497' date='May 27 2007, 17:32 ']You may be thinking of old Foam 10. Here is the rig that the current Foam 10 replaced, I believe. Call and speak to the Captain. Since 127 was used to file the TV show EMERGENCY!, they get lots of visitors. The members perfer you call ahead before visiting. They do have T-Shirts also for sale. Fire Station 127 2049 E. 223rd Street Carson, CA 90810-1061 Bus (310) 830-3170 Bn: 7 Div: 1, Ops: Central Los Angeles County Fire Dept - Guest - 06-02-2007 I know it's a little late, but I was perusing through the topic and it cuaght my eye. Recently we did a story at the California Youth Athourity in Camarillo and interviewed a number of girls that were on the fire crews. At least with CYA, which staffs crews for CDF/Cal Fire, they explained to us that you were only eligible for the fire crew in the last two years of your sentence, and you had to have had a spotless record "inside" and maintain that spotless record while on the crew. One of the gals we interview, and she was a rather pretty gal, someone you never would think would be in jail, was in for murder (At age 13 none the less) and she was on the fire crew. There were a number of girls on the crew that were in for murder, ADW, viloent crimes. A number of LACoFD camps, like camp 9, are former USAF Nike Missle installations. Camp 9 for instance uses the old buildings that housed the USAF personell and has room for two landing areas for helicopters. The old missle silos are still ocated just outside of the camp and are still there. Probably one of the best views in the fire service from up at Camp 9.
