The fire was set by kids F-ing around behind the station - they even video taped their non-sense and that lead to their arrest. Correction on the date - Oct 14, 2001

For those train buff's among you, who also collect license plates, here is a link to a charity org. who is selling these ones at $15 each.

Be careful with real license plates. If the state issuing them is like New Jersey, the state owns them with a stipulation that they must be surrendered when they expire. In my 32 years of working with a PD, I have heard of quite a few instances where former New Jerseyans have moved to a state issuing only a rear plate so they have taken their old New Jersey plate and placed it on he front of their car in their new state, then when they drive back into New Jesey they are cited for having a fictitious plate and not surrendering it.

Those of you who are interested in trains and attend Firehouse Expo, check out the B&O RR museum, it is fairly close to the convention center.

It's been a busy month for me shooting trains....here's a few of my favorites.

First up is NJT Train #75 heading westbound at Sloatsburg, NY on 4/22/07 behind a fairly new PL42-AC.

A few minutes later NS train HO-7 came around the curve with 3 widecab GE's. The lead unit was an NS unit still in Conrail blue but the second and third units were BNSF units.

And here is the HO-7 a little bit closer to me......

Was out yesterday (4/26/07) and took over 70 shots, mostly of NJT. I am a former NJT train dispatcher and my railfan buddy still is (as well as a former NS and Conrail engineer and conductor). NJT was doing tie replacement today and about 20-25 pieces of track equipment came by us at the Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ station. I shot all of them, but I'll only post two of them...here's the first:

....and here's the second:

Here's westbound NJT Train #1161 entering the Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ station with PL42-AC #4026 leading.

NJT and Metro-North pool equipment since service is maintained to both NJ and NY. Bringing up the markers on NJT Train #1161 is this MNRR cab car.

As the day wore on we moved from Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ to Waldwick, NJ. Waldwick has a station, a yard, a tower (closed), and an interlocking so it's a great spot for photography. We set up just in time to catch NJT Train #1114 coming east with cab car #5023 leading.

As #1114 went by I turned to get the locomotive. NJT #4112, a GP40-PH2, brings up the markers as the train begins to slow for its station stop.
