I didn't know those BMW's were capable of towing a portable generator!

This is NOT The county SWAT UNIT... It is the Corrections SERT Unit at the Jail... For rowdie inmates. LOL They get in it and drive it around from a parking lot to the JAIL if there is a need. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Banghead' /> My tax dollars...

Not as strange is the fact the Middlesex County Corrections has a mobile command post and they only have one building.

Seems like almost everyone in NJ went to the L.A.P.D. style black and white colors. My old town in South Jersey also went to this color scheme. I like it, it's aggressive!

This is actually the trend sweeping the nation. I don't know who started it, but it's much like the BIG EXPRESSIVE graphics phase that everyone went through in the 1990's, now things are calming back down, and huge quantities of departments are going back to a more basic B&W theme. I guess there was only so much you can do with splashy colors and swoopy stripes

This after years of hearing how much cheaper an all white car was to repair since body panels wouldn't have to be repainted, and they wanted high visability "signage" and the like. Now for guys like me who shoot a lot of law enforcement photography it's refreshing to see something that's not been changed to B&W. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />

John,

As much as i really like the B&W color scheme on patrol cars, i really hope that the NJSP does NOT go back to the B&W! I think that the simple Blue and gold stripes and triangle on solid white looks SHARP!!!!

NJ Law Enforcement - Guest - 08-14-2007

One of the reasons why Newark, NJ PD went back to B&W ws to make the radio cars more visible or identifyable to the public. The older white cars looked the same as some of the taxis or car service vehicles in Newark.

This word "village" in a municipal name is very rare in New Jersey. As only 2 of our 566 municipalities are incorporated as such. In addition to Ridgewood, there is Ridgefield Park. I believe that South Orange may have been a village as today it is officially the Township of South Orange Village. The other types of municipal governments are boro, city, town and township.

Marc,

I just wanted to see IF NJSP did it. I am with you and like the white with the stripes and triangle. I do have to say though my old PD in Franklin Twp (Somerset Co) is now B&W with a gold and BLACK Stripe.... I think it looks COOL! But just like Black over Red Fire trucks.... BIG DEAL!? Everyone is doing it... Would love to see FDNY go back to the way rigs were painted in 1979... But then you need a MACK to do it RIGHT <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' />
