Do you know why the warning lights near the grill are different? One is a solid light, the other has a chrome housing.
Possibly just a replacement temporarily til the right one is placed in...just my guess..

And I said the same thing, you back that thing in with no water in the tank and it ain't goin in! YIKES thats a tight fit.
I just returned form a trip to las Vegas making trips to about 12 of the stations. According to the guys there, Heavy Rescue 44 will be getting their now rig in a few months. It is going to a few trade shows before it's delivered (maybe FDIC). In addition, all the engines are going to be replaced based on the contract w/ Pierce for a 7 year replacement plan. I can only assume this will take place over a year or two.

It was no easy task to get all the rigs at station 1 in house at the same time. I made an attempt there 4 times and was only able to get E201 and R301.

You can view my photos at www.karlsfirephotos.smugmug.com.
Karl....Where did you find E-48.....didn't even know it existed yet. Is it at its own station or in another. Also to anyone interested....someone has posted pics of the new Heavy 44 and 5 of the new engines on emtbravowest.

Engine 48 is a renumber. I believe it was E41. E48 currently is sharing a station w/ E46 until their new house is built (if I remember correctly).
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue- They had approximately 6 of these, all unmarked, anyone know what they are for? Arson investigation? There are LED's in the grill, on the front fender, and along the interior headliner. I was also curious about who covers what in Vegas, obviously there is Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, but I saw Clark County FD on the strip.

Scott
The city of Las Vegas actually starts around Sahara av and Branches out north and west and is covered by Las Vegas Fire Rescue. South of Sahara is known as the Incorpored area of Clark County is is Clark Co. Fire Rescue territory. ( You'll see small green signs all over this area saying " Welcome to _____ township" ). The majority of "the Strip" and what people think is Las Vegas is actually not the City. Best way to know is by the color of the fire trucks!!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> I lived there for 5 years and worked for Mercy (Well AMR now). Hope this helps ya out.
guys- what does vegas use the tanker for. do they have water problems on the outskirts?
Hey Laurens, those are some spectacular photos of both Las Vegas and Clark County fire trucks. I have taken

a number of apparatus photos from both departments myself, hopefully I will be able to post them some day. In regards

to the Las Vegas fire truck photos I was wondering what type of camera you used and how you managed to capture in

photos the very bright, brilliant shade of red and gold that those trucks are in person. Many Las Vegas fire truck photos

that I have seen turn out looking a dull, rusty redish/orange color. Being from the Netherlands I was curious also as to

how you feel european fire trucks compare to U.S. fire trucks designwise. European apparatus is totally different in every

way and in many cases I feel rather bizarre looking. Do you have any preferences when it comes to fire truck/emergency

vehicle designs?

When I shot this tanker when brand new, it was at station 41 back in 2003 and although the area, was built up, there was still water problems in the area and still much construction going on.
