Those who have the Harvey Eckart's "Mack L" Iconografix book can see this body style on p. 50 (1947 85LS from Allentown, PA), p. 52 (1948 85LS from Cresskill, NJ), p.95 (1953 95LS from Wilmington, Ohio). Looks like a fairly standard offering from Mack, Inc.) Phil, Bklyn Empire State Oldies - Guest - 07-19-2006 C'mon now, let's not forget all the Foxes that served in NY. Now it's my turn to finally post a few pics, and they couldn't fit into a better category than this one. First we'll start with a pic I took on this past friday evening of the Kenilworth FD Young, while it was parked outside the Harris Hill FD. I managed to catch a few hard to grab rigs while I stopped there, seeing them all parked at the FD. Why they were there, I have no idea, but it was pure luck that I chose to head back home that way. Earlier in the day I was out pixing the Buffalo area with GA Dave, and also received a fantastic tour of the ALF Hamburg facility by fellow pixer Roger Wnek. Roger thanks for the great tour, and the pixing opporitunity. I hope you all will enjoy these pics which I'll be posting. Jeff Ambroz-Rochester,NY Empire State Oldies - Guest - 07-23-2006 Next up is a 1958 B Mack pumper, which is owned by my local FD SeaBreeze. This rig is used for parades, but still runs like it used to when it was in frontline service until 1986, when it was replaced by a newer Mack pumper. This pic was taken at our town's recent July 4th parade. Empire State Oldies - Guest - 07-23-2006 Oops, sorry for the double post there folks, not quite sure what happened there, but at least the pic posted to the board. |
