Relics - Guest - 08-04-2009
Looks like a Farrar logo on the nose of the Milton ladder. [/quote Yup it is a Farrar Relics - Mark V. Carr - 08-05-2009 I found this collector owned rig at a local eatery in Royal Palm Beach, FL. It's lettered for Perserverance, PA Vol Fire Dept/ and is a 1940 Seagrave 750 GPM 65' Ladder SN#A4370 Ex Souderton, PA, Ex Seminole FL Jr College, Ex FL State Fire College. Mark Carr photo Relics - BFD1151 - 08-05-2009 I happened to stumble upon these 3 trucks by accident in Wingate,NC. The guy that owns these trucks has a contract firefighting service for putting out landfill, mulch pile, and large woods fires. This truck is his primary truck he uses for those contracts. 1974 Ford L/Pierce/'86 Pierce refurb 4x4 750/1000/?F #F-1588 Ex-Louisville,KY Relics - BFD1151 - 08-05-2009 I believe he said he would like to get rid of these next two so if anyone is interested, let me know and I will put you in contact with him. Ex-New Orleans,LA 1984 Seagrave HB41-DB 1500/450/65' Redi-tower #R-79409 Relics - BFD1151 - 08-05-2009 There were 3 or 4 other older trucks in his garage that I didn't have time to shoot but I told him I would be back. The nice thing about this truck was it was re-powered with a diesel engine and had an automatic transmission so it would make a very good parade/muster truck with a little work. 1956 ALF 700 1000/400 #L-5399 Ex-Sandy Ridge,NC Ex-Gainesville,FL Relics - Guest - 08-05-2009
1956 ALF 700 1000/400 #L-5399 Ex-Sandy Ridge,NC Ex-Gainesville,FL
Doesn't the driver side pump panel identify this as an 800 Series? Funny though, the height of the body and bumper position look like that of a 700. Relics - GA_Dave - 08-06-2009 Quote:QUOTE (BFD1151 @ Aug 5 2009, 22:34 ) This one caught me by surprise! This is a 700 Series by all indications, except the left-side pump panel. My guess is that it was built just as the 800 Series was making its debut, and is possibly the first ALF with a left-side panel. Perhaps Gainesville wanted it that way. The 800 was introduced in mid-1956, but deliveries didn't begin until 1957. Relics - BFD1151 - 08-06-2009 It may very well be an 800 series, I just guessed on the series because I don't know how to tell them apart. Those of you that have ALF databases, does the registered # help identify if it is a 700 or 800? KENTucky, can you help me out with this truck? KENTucky, can you help me out with this truck?
Lexington Blue Grass Airport, Kentucky 1974 Ford/Fire Boss 500/800/150 foam originally lime green 1986 Pierce (F1558) 750/1500/60 foam Going by info on two different shots that I have of this rig to get specs. The original Fire Boss rig shot as a slide and then the print that I have after re-built by Pierce. Both photographers pretty much up on their stuff as far as getting accurate info, so your guess is a good as mine as to the major difference in specs here. Figured an explanation was warranted here. Relics - Guest - 08-06-2009 I found this one just across town today. Former Limington, ME Mobile Command-post and Rescue Unit. Could make out who built it, but it's on a 1972 International chassis. Knowing that Limington is a small town, so I'm guessing this served somewhere else first but where I don't know. pic by me Relics - Guest - 08-06-2009 Officer's side Ex- Limington, ME pic by me Relics - GA_Dave - 08-06-2009 Quote:I found this one just across town today.
