YES... That is in front of the Applebye Building on the Grounds of Gallaudet University; it has been the temporary home of THE DIME for TWO (2) YEARS NOW!

Several years ago in a former administration, some faction in the geographic Golden Triangle business district received permission from the water authority to paint city hydrants and, I believe, trash boxes. The traditional colors for hydrants in DC are green (standard) and white. White indicates hydrants in areas with poor drainage and are not to be used unless necessary.
The short-lived yellow hydrants are being repainted to green. Get your pix now for posterity. Tip o' the hat to water expert Lt. Sean Egan (Car 10) for the info.

Also, in the picture he asked the question about the green plug across the street- it has two blue bands. This should be a N.S.T. plug that is tested for GPM, and the yellow plug the wagon picked up should be an old D.C. plug. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is R1 using R2 old eone or has it been repaired already after the accident. Any new info on new apparatus(rescues,tower ladder)

Rescue 1, is using old Rescue 2. Not sure if anything has been accomplished with old R1. I photographed it the other day sitting in front of the shops.
