Tour of New Jersey - John Kenealy - 11-19-2012 We were inside the SunBank Center Arena in Trenton NJ on Saturday, when the alarms went off and we were forced to evacuate due to an individual sneaking a smoke in the restroom and setting off the alarms system. Caught a couple trucks outside.
This was sold by Leonia FD within the last year or 2. The Leonia Volunteer Ambulance Corp (LVAC)was disbanded during that time and replaced by Englewood Hospital and Medical Center EMS. When the LVAC was disbanded, the Leonia FD acquired one of LVAC's ambulances and replaced the above Field Comm unit. The old unit and their current one was mostly done in house by members of LFD. I can get pics of the new unit soon for you if you are interested. Scott Tour of New Jersey - Guest - 11-22-2012 Leonia Fire Dept, Squad 1, pic taken May 2000. Scott Tour of New Jersey - Guest - 11-22-2012 Leonia FD, Squad 1, Pic taken May 2002. It has a newer light bar in this pic. It was the former firehouse for Engine 2/Resv Engine 2. Not 100% But knowing the location this could be acting as Engine 3 just down Broad St with Ladder 2... or due to the direction it came in to from could be acting as Engine 6 also... It really looks like it. It really looks like it.
Sorta.... KME purchased several Maxim F cabs after Maxim closed. On one visit, I saw about six or seven of them sitting up on the hill behind the factory. These cabs were used on the KME Firefox chassis (non-tilt cabs) and were sold to customers who wanted that look. Two went to Riverdale Heights, MD. One went on a tractor for an ALF TDA for Hillside, MD to match a Maxim F pumper they had. Trenton, NJ had at least one. I have seen a few others, but their locations escape me at the moment and I am on the wrong computer to look them up.
Both Hillside units were/are in Slickville,PA.,Trenton had at least 3, 2 1991 engines (E5&6), and a 1992 "tower engine" KME/Maxim cab with a Boardman body and 63' articulating squirt boom by Redi-tower (E1). Speaking of Trenton, anyone remember this event around November 1992?; anniversary gathering of the TFD with a group shot, just to right was a rented bucket truck with several photogs, unfortunately most of the rigs dispersed at the end of the ceremony, I scrambled to get about 6 rigs, including the new Engines 5&6.
