St. Louis Metro - mfd110 - 10-14-2011 Is that the only truck they refurbed? St. Louis Metro - Guest - 10-15-2011 So far. I think the 1's is getting a makeover... maybe the 8s as well. The 10s were in a Pierce this morning, but they had the 29s old quint this afternoon. I know the 2's, 23, 26, 31, 32 are still in town. Haven't seen 8s or 24s in a little while. There still needs to be a few front line quints redone and also some converted into foam trucks.
Just noticed the other day, Kirksville is selling there early 2000's Spartan/Precision rear mount rescue pumper. It was a controversial purchase at the time. Totally out of the ordinary for what they normally purchase and it had an EQ2b which broke their tradition of real Q2b's only for this purchase. They have a new traditional Ferrara Inferno Rescue Pumper on order. They must have decided to keep the 1994ish Seagrave Tele-Squirt. St. Louis Metro - Guest - 11-25-2011 Kirkwood, MO. Every time I look at one of Ben's posts or in the STL section its something different. And calling a quint a "truck"? I mean no harm but for lack of better knowledge I'd call it a quint at best. Every time I look at one of Ben's posts or in the STL section its something different. And calling a quint a "truck"? I mean no harm but for lack of better knowledge I'd call it a quint at best.
From what I was told at FDIC last year, when the new Smeal pumpers were on display - the old quints were labeled engines, but called pumpers on the radio. Now, with the new engines coming in, the engines are actually called engines, the remaining quints (less than 100') are called trucks, and the 100'+ aerials are called "Hook & Ladder". |
