Winnipeg MB F393 (300 is the prefix for ladder trucks, 090 is the designation for spare apparatus, and 003 is the designations for the third spare aerial) acting as ladder 1 spare. F393 is a 2001 E\-One Typhoon II RMA Platform with a 95' aerial, 250 Gallon water tank, and a 1665 GPM pump. Crews were conducting a final truck check before returning the truck to the spare apparatus pool and picking up their primary truck when I took this.

Can anyone identify which department this truck was built for?  Currently this rig serves at Elberon, Iowa.  It is a 1991 Volvo/Superior Vehicles, Red Deer AB.

I believe its serial number is SE1275.

Any further information would be appreciated.

Thanks for posting this! It was originally delivered to Rama Township, Ontario, which was merged with adjoining Mara Township to form Ramara in 1994. It was replaced by a new truck in 2014.
1050 Imperial GPM pump, which is equivalent to 1250 US, plus a 1000 IG tank, so about the same. The pump test date is 30 December 1992.

Weyburn Saskatchewan pumper. This is a 2017 Rosenbauer Avenger and was the first Avenger used in Canada. This truck was the Avenger Demo rig. after it was purchased the department made some in-house upgrades to better suit the truck to fight Canadian fires including adding a space heater in the pump compartment to prevent freezing. This truck features a 1050 GPM pump and a 625-gallon tank as well as 24 gallons of foam. This is currently their first out fire/rescue piece but it'll soon be their second out piece as the rescue equipment will be moved to their other older pumper as its better suited.

Is this the one that contacted electric lines and fried the trucks computers?  Kind of looks like it!

Yes this is the same aerial truck. Mississauga sold to Dependable as salvage and rebuilt.

Reliance, any idea what Yarmouth paid for it?

Hello all,

Would anyone know what department originally ran this truck?  It's a 2009 Kenworth/Helie Camions. Currently serving in Springville, Iowa.

Thank you!

Al Hunt

Camions Hélie is based in Quebec. They do a lot of remounts. In this case, the body was built in 1991 by Superior Emergency Vehicles on a Ford F800 chassis for the Walden Fire Department in Lively, Ontario, for its Beaver Lake station. It had a 420 Imperial GPM pump and 1200 Imperial gallon tank, which translates roughly as 500/1440 US gallons.

Walden was amalgamated with several other municipalities to form the City of Greater Sudbury in 2001 and the truck became part of Greater Sudbury Fire Services. It spent the last few years of its career as a spare and ended up at Hélie after it was auctioned off.
