Tom, It is Vassalboro heading north from Augusta, not sure if it is heading towards the Academy or not. Relics - msm618 - 10-01-2009 Never knew Boston rostered a Ford C/Bean. Squirts & hose wagons (2nd pieces w/pumps), for sure. Is this one of the "strays" (i.e. ex-Whitman,MA ladder) that has erved at the Fire Brigade on Long Island? Or is this a "clone" with Boston markings for the parade/muster circuit (since few, if any, real ex-Boston rigs live that long <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />). Experts? Please?
Also at the same place this Ford C/Bean that has all of the Boston, MA markings?
yeah I think I know where it is, be on the left hand side of teh road if it's the same place I'm thinking of, alot of older ALF's and commercial cab/chassis stuff. Haven't been that far north in a couple of years and was before I started getting the picture bug LOL Relics - BFD1151 - 10-12-2009 While looking through some of my older photos, I ran across this relic and thought I would post it. The relic sat behind Mountain Home,NC's main station for a while and the intention at the time was to place the truck in-service and apparently that didn't pan out.I shot this back in 2003 and haven't seen it since so any info on its whereabouts would be great. I want to say it served on Long Island, but I can't remember for sure. WLF/Hi-Ranger 85'Snorkel Ex-? Relics - Andrew2340 - 10-12-2009 The info Dave told me was... 1967 WLF UltraVision Low-Profile 1000/0/85' Hi-Ranger Spec # 20517 X: Melville, NY "Ladder 2-5-1" Sold to Mountain Home, NC Traded into Southeastern ALF Greenville-Spartanburg, SC Lost track of it there around 2004 or 2005 I'm probably wrong... Relics - Guest - 10-12-2009 Relics - GA_Dave - 10-12-2009 Quote:My guess is that a door off of a Boston rig was acquired for the apparatus pictured. Although the paint is faded on the entire apparatus, the "Boston" door is a noticeably different hue than the rest of the rig. You might be on to something there. The Ford emblem on the cab face was not in use at the same time as the one on the door with the reflector in it. Relics - marco17 - 10-12-2009 Not such a sad ending.. Ex-Torrance, CA Crown Pumper presently being used by a SoCal fire training academy. |
