When were the LEDs added to 1922?! Looks good!

And where was this fire located?

[/quote]

Yep. Thanks, my brother and I installed the LED lighting on 1922 and 1914. They both have Code3 Defenders on them. 1922 had them installed in August, 1914 this last New Years Eve. I have some videos on my youtube page below. The fire was a 2nd alarm garage/attic on Clairfield Dr & New Smizer Mill. Happened on 3-28-12, I didnt get any scene photos worth posting.

Fenton is looking into the Patient transport to utilize it as a 5th out ambulance during high call volume times. Ive heard that it will only transport to the hospital in their district. Also Ive head it will not be available for mutual aid.

This is ex-Louisa (VA) Volunteer Fire Department, replaced with a 2011 Pierce Velocity. Although I don't have my notes in front of me (at work today), I recall that it's a 2008 or 2009 model. I'll check and find out.

Thanks for that info, I assumed High Ridge had bought it new. It looks brand new!

Im going to go with it being a 2008. I was looking through Louisa website, there is a pic dated November 2008 showing the truck.

Any idea why they sold it off? Did they decide they wanted a full size pumper instead?

St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-06-2012

Wow! I didn't know High Ridge had a new 6416! When did they get that? That's a sharp little rig. It's not even shown on their website yet. Then again, neither is the new 6414.

I first noticed it about a year or so ago. Im not sure when they actually took delivery of it. I can say, when I did my medic clinicals at North Jeff AD, 6416 was still running the Ford Pickup. That was just over a year.

High Ridge has come a long way, with the boom JeffCo has seen, High Ridge has turned in to a pretty good department. Not saying they were ever a bad place, but they arent the "hillbilly, country" fire department that people associate with the High Ridge area. They take pride in everything they do, you can eat off of their engine room floors.

I wish there was a simple answer to that. It has a lot to do with some intradepartmental politics, money, career guys, volunteer chiefs, and some other issues. Either way, they're in a full size pumper now.

Here is a shot I took in 1965 of Snorkel 1 (Ladder 4) using the 1963 FWD/Towers 85' Snorkel, Later in its career it ran as Snorkel 5.

I like the B&M siren tucked into the spot where the IHC chassis would normally have the big "V"

St. Louis Metro - nozzleman - 04-07-2012

Great picture thank you.

St. Louis Metro - Guest - 04-07-2012

When did StLFD get the other red snorkel, with the closed cab? That's the rig that I remember running as Snorkel 6 up until the early 1980s or so.

I've seen the above Snorkel sitting in a parking lot downtown near the Edward Jones Dome with other abandoned trucks a year or so ago. Not sure if it's still there or not.
