Hope no one minds. F.D.N.Y. - anesti - 09-01-2006
The lady walking in the background was driving me nuts, so I photoshopped her out. Hope no one minds.
lol thats my pic never even noticed that lady in the background lol F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 09-01-2006
Im thinking he means that since there is only 1 HAZ MAT 1, they are responsible for all the 5 boroughs which makes them busy running hazmat related calls throughout the city.
That's what I meant. Sorry for not being more clearer. Hazmat-1 Responds all over the city and a single run can have them running to the far end of Staten Island from North Queens, which in itself can take a good 30 mins even with the lights and sirens the whole way there. An engine company or a truck company does more local runs and therefore have more time to take in a run or 2 more before hazmat can even get close to where they are needed. A run is a simple notification that something is going on that requires a response from the area's companies, just because a company does 5,000 runs does not mean it had work to do. F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 09-01-2006 Sorry for the misunderstanding F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 09-01-2006
lol thats my pic never even noticed that lady in the background lol
<img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> part of my job to notice stuff like that... You'd be suprised how much stuff gets photoshopped out of photos I post here... Although I don't do it to news photos, I meant I pay attention to the background. Ken F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 09-02-2006 Great photos as usual. Acouple of unrelated questions on some of the posts- 1. How does (or did) the fire patrol get dispatched. Was it FDNY, was it automatic, etc. 2. I was looking at the phots of Div. 8 and Tac 2, what's going on at their house. I have ridden from there on a number of occasions and it looks like there is some construction going on. Thanks in advance Mark Bindman F.D.N.Y. - FDNY 10-75 - 09-02-2006
Great photos as usual. Thanks in advance Mark Bindman
Mark, Their apparatus floor was removed, and is being rebuilt to accommodate heavier rigs. When the place was first built the apparatus they had weighed only about as much as 2-3 compact cars. Now, apparatus weighs several tons, and was without reconstruction, this could have been a problem. The firehouse has been under construction for awhile. F.D.N.Y. - FDNY 10-75 - 09-02-2006 I just added this shot for ya. Rescue 5's 'Floor'. Well, it should be the same level at which I was standing.
