DCFD Photos, old or new - dcfireman - 08-17-2010 Purple K powered by 250 psi of compressed nitrogen. August 12, 2010 DCFD Photos, old or new - dcfireman - 08-17-2010 TAU-1, T St. NW between Florida Ave and Connecticut Ave. 8/12/10 DCFD Photos, old or new - dcfireman - 08-17-2010 TAU-2, special called. S-733 is a 1999 Ford F350; 400 lbs. Purple K/ 50 gallons Light Water. DCFD Photos, old or new - dcfireman - 08-17-2010 Units in the 1900 block of T St. NW, August 12, 2010: TAU-2, TAU-1, Engine 9, Foam Unit 1. The day was exceptionally busy city-wide. This particular incident was the first time I have ever seen both TAU’s and the Foam Unit all put into service on the same incident. DCFD Photos, old or new - dcfireman - 08-17-2010 Foam Unit 1, S-716, 2001 E\-One. DCFD Photos, old or new - dcfireman - 08-17-2010 The Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Fire Department responded Foam 337 from Ronald Reagan International Airport on mutual-aid. It is a 1998 Oshkosh T3000. Directly behind it alongside the stone wall where the sign reads Hilton Ballroom is where President Reagan was shot. DCFD Photos, old or new - dcfireman - 08-17-2010 Fire knocked down with PK, sealed with foam. FU-1, MWAA Unit 337. FU-1, MWAA Unit 337. August 12, 2010
Great shots Kevin. I am assuming the Striker isn't in service yet. I was hoping it might be as I will be in town later this week for two weeks. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 08-18-2010
And for those keeping track, TAU2 was until very recently quartered at E1/T2.
So - it's just Engine 1, Truck 2, Medic 1 & Ambulance 1 at the station now? DCFD Photos, old or new - DCpsychwardFD - 08-19-2010 Great pictures Chief. I listened to the incident from home, but figured everything was already blocked off for picture access. Once I heard the Williard being evacuated I figured the brothers had some intense flames heading in its direction. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 08-20-2010
So - it's just Engine 1, Truck 2, Medic 1 & Ambulance 1 at the station now?
Correct. There used to be a TAU3, but when it was deadlined it was never replaced. Also, the Striker has not been delivered yet. DCFD Photos, old or new - alex3610 - 08-31-2010
Is this what you are looking for? The is from DCFD Seagrave spec. Within these categories the following specific items shall be included: Wheelbase shall be 163". Overall height not to exceed 112" Overall length not to exceed 340" The top of the hose body shall be as low as possible, but shall not exceed 66" from the top of the rear step. Entire cab shall tilt. Seating capacity shall be provided for six (6) personnel (including driver). Rear axle gearing shall allow a top speed of approximately 65 miles an hour. GVW rating shall be a minimum of 44,000 lbs.
I noticed today while reading the DC spec used to purchase the last bunch of Seagrave pumpers, that it calls for 64" from the ground to the hose bed and 40" from the back step, however the drawings show 55" and 31" from the step, which in comparing to pictures looks to be about where they ended up. Anyone know whats up with that? DCFD Photos, old or new - hungrybus - 09-10-2010 Well i finnaly did it, I made a photo trip through Washington DC, with my good buddy "Slippery Sam", I can not tell you how friendly the Men & Women of the DC Fire Dept. were to us.
