He used to work on Asheville Fire-Rescue E6 and was a paramedic for Buncombe EMS before getting on FDNY I think back in 2007.
I know who he is. I've met him at the annual Sept. 11th Memorial Services at 54/4. He got there about 3 years after I had transferred out. F.D.N.Y. - Russell - 08-06-2009 I was talking to a guy, and he was telling there is an issue with the new greaseless boom on the new 'Scopes. They (Seagrave) have a few things to sort out. Hopefully I'll get to photograph a few next year when they arrive. F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 08-06-2009 The stories/rumors/craziness with these new ladders is very reminiscent of the Pierce R1 nuttiness from a few years back. F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 08-06-2009 Heres a question for anyone from the Big Apple: When specing out aerials (r/mts, towers, tillers) does the jack spread come into consideration? Boston likes the E-ones based solely on the jack spread, while the few Pierce trucks they do run have an "out and down" type of jack spread. Just curious, Thanks in advance. F.D.N.Y. - camdenfirespfn - 08-08-2009 If you want to see a shot of the new Seagrave Tower for FDNY go to Seagrave.com stock trucks they are selling it as a demo, FDNY rejected it do to something about Mutiplex ( I think to much of it was ) I am NO expert on this just passing along info, should be late September Early Oct for the NEXT 1st Tower LOL Be Safe F.D.N.Y. - hp1530 - 08-08-2009
If you want to see a shot of the new Seagrave Tower for FDNY go to Seagrave.com stock trucks they are selling it as a demo, FDNY rejected it do to something about Mutiplex ( I think to much of it was ) I am NO expert on this just passing along info, should be late September Early Oct for the NEXT 1st Tower LOL Be Safe
Thanks for the heads up! Has photos, drawings and a good detailed spec sheet on the page. I wonder if the truck was also rejected due to the new style "cat tracks"? They seem to be sticking out a bit off the sides. Amen to this, Brother. F.D.N.Y. - Guest - 08-09-2009 Can anyone explain "Multiplex" as the reaason why unit wasnt taken and what are the cat tracks on this rig. The demo or stock unit looks like the TL's now in service except for new cab configuration with raised roof.
