Caught Rome's Engine 1 out in the sun this morning. Sorry, no stats.

New York State - John Kenealy - 03-07-2012

Utica NY took delivery of a 2012 Sutphen recently. It will run as Engine 1. 1500/500 HS-5048. It replaces a 1988 Seagrave, which will move to reserve status.

Is this built off of Syracuse's specs? Looks very similar.

Great Shots John!

I don't think it would be fair to say this rig was "built off" our specs. Not entirely, anyway. It's different enough to make it more suiable for Utica. I had a chance to look it over here at the SFD Shops before it was delivered and it's a very nice unit. Hope it serves them long, safely and well.

Looks like Sutphen is getting " in" Upstate! Looks sharp, although I have a ( bad) biased opinon of them from experience......

John,

Need you to get over to Wampsville to get a pic of their "new" 1996 Emergency One Cyclone TC, 4-door six man cab, 1500/500, 465HP Cummins M11 diesel, automatic, 15 KW Stadco generator, desiginated rescue-pumper, sold by Glick Fire Equipment-Smokestown to the Southern Manhiem Fire Company (Lancaster County, PA). Replaced in 2011, sold to Wampsville (Madison County, NY) which is near Syracuse. I was told that this is a small department, and the E\-One replaced an engine they described as having a catastrophic failure.

Many thanks,

Bruce

I caught Wampsville coming back from a mutual aid structure fire in neighboring (to the south) Lincoln. Here's their new engine. There was no catastrophic failure, though, They still have the two engines pictured above (they were both at the fire scene) and they sold the heavy rescue to Bridgewater, also posted above. Their reasoning for the E\-One purchase was to combine the rescue and engine due to manpower issues.

Eli,

Information I have on this rig is below - ex. Elverson (Chester County, PA). Elverson merged with Morgantown FC to form the Twin Valley FC a couple of years ago.

Is that Panama in Chautauqua County? If it is, they won't need to change the color, they run white/chrome yellow.
