Wish I had known you were in the area. I grew up across the street from the Jonesville FD. I probaly spent more time there than in my house when I was small. The original FD was a one bay at the town hall. For years they only had the Mack and the 72 F750 Boardman. I can remember right after getting the Pierce mini had large house fire and the Boardman was OSS and fought the fire a long time with the mini until help arrived. It used to have a 4 bulb beacon. I think the cost of it was $32k.

Well its been a while since I posted last.. Ive been too busy between work and moving into my new house. Yes, I now am a homeowner. So I havent been out and about. However, I was out and about the last few days and here are a few results.
One of my favorite stations in upstate SC, Keowee Key fd. on the shores of Beautiful lake Keowee.
First is This Beautiful 1980 Seagrave Engine 173. I have always wanted to shoot this truck. Not sure where it started its career at? But it ended up at Corenth-Shiloh FD, just outside of Clemson. They were working on restoring it. they donated it a couple of years ago to Keowee, where they refurb'd and restored it.

The main reason for the trip was Keowee's newest addition is this 2009 Pierce Arrow XT, It has only been in full service for a week.

Great pics Gary! That's such a coincidence. When did you shoot those Keowee trucks? Aaron and I were just there Saturday and we shot the whole fleet from their Station 1. The only thing at their substation was the other Freightliner/Quality. They totalled the Pierce Dash rescue truck in an MVA. It was OOS in the bay Saturday. They were expecting the insurance agent to come Sunday or Monday and inspect the damages.

I have not shot a lot of rigs since I've moved here, but I will post what I have shot. Let me start with my department, Summerville Fire & Rescue. This is a 2006 E\-One typhoon, 1500gpm hale, 1000gal., 30 gallon foam cell. We bought this truck last year and runs out of our new Station 4. This was a demo truck, as you will notice with the other pics I post you will tell the difference in the color of red between this truck and the rest of the fleet. This truck and crews on each shift responded up the Horry County for the wildfires and was primarily used as a water shuttle because of it's tank capacity.

Next is our oldest truck in our active fleet. This is a 1976 Mack CF 800 1250gpm, 500 gal. designated Engine 8. Engine 8 is one of three reserve pumpers we have. Engine 8 is a stick shift. Plans are in place to replace this truck and another one of our reserves with one truck and to make Engine 8 a parade unit.

Next is another one of our reserves Engine 12, a 1982 Mack CF 1000gpm, 500gal. Engine 12 will also be replaced with Engine 8, however I don't believe we will be keeping Engine 12. As you look at Engine 8 & 12 they look very similar, but look closer and they are not. Engine 8 has mudder type tires in the rear, 12 does not. Engine 12 is an automatic. The body door latches are different on Engine 12, Engine 8 has a 10 ft. wooden pike pole mounted above the right side of the hosebed. Engine 12's steamer is a 5" steamer, Engine 8's is a 6". Engine 12's left and right side rear compartments contour with the beaver tail giving more compartment space in those rear compartments where Engine 8's just stop even with the rear body. Engine 8's pump capacity is greater than Engine 12, and for an older truck Engine 8 has an electronic transfer valve, Engine 12's is manual.
