The new RA's are equipped with Federal EQ2B sirens. I saw it firsthand in a rig at Firehouse World today.

Wow LF 1 going all the way up to Station 74? That must have been a haul.

I recall reading about the Skid Row name being removed in the newspaper. Looks like the politically correct police made a stop at Station 9 too.

Has the new Station 4 been built? Opened? And again why was LF-1 at 74? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleep.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='-_-' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

New station 4 is not open yet. LF 1 was moved up to station 74.

maxim - I can't say for sure, but I'm aware of the extensive amount of training being done on almost a daily basis in the City of Los Angeles.

I doubt Light Force 1 was moved up to fill in at Station 74 because 74's were at a working fire. It most likely was for a training move-up. Almost every day the LAFD has numerous move-ups to fill in vacated stations due to one or more training exercises going on in the city. Some of these exercises are huge (mostly those on weekends).

Task Force 74 was probably involved in one of these training exercises when the photo was taken. Light Force 1 was most likely moved into the area to fill in during the exercises. Sometimes the training exercises are battalion-wide. I've even seen weekend training exercises (a high-rise drill for one) where over 30 companies were involved for the better part of a day.
