Keystone State Relics - Guest - 08-27-2006 Even these junky, little tankers are neat, imo. The Cecil Township VFC of Hill Station, PA ran this 1951 Ford F tanker. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Keystone State Relics - Guest - 08-27-2006 <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hail.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Thank you sir, for posting a real Somerset classic! I caught up to this rig in its last days at Confluence in the fall of 1996.I do not know where it went from there. I was privileged to be able to photo your entire fleet in the fall of 1993 and just missed the FordC/Bruco ladder! Do ya have any pics of that one? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/luxhello.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Keystone State Relics - John Kenealy - 08-27-2006
Stoneboro, PA once hauled the big water with this 1964 Ford F 2000 gallon tanker (500 gpm). Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Interesting paint scheme on this one. Does anyone know know if their whole fleet looked like this, or was this a one-off? Keystone State Relics - Guest - 08-28-2006 Stoneboro's rigs are currently White over Lime Green. I'm working my way out there to get pictures before the end of the year, but haven't quite made it yet. What a classic! John Axford pic/Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Scott- additional info: This is a 1949 Ford F-/Hahn, 750/650. The front-mount pump is an Ingersoll-Rand Cameron. The full width enclosed body was just coming into being at Hahn when it was built. It has pump-and-roll capability therefore it is still in service and used for field fires. The ladders and hard suction slid into the body at the rear. The booster reel is in an open compartment at the back step. Port Clinton (Schuylkill Co.),PA is the next community north of Hamburg (Berks Co.),PA which was the home of Hahn. This truck is essentially unchanged from the time it was delivered. Price was $6550.00!!!!!! Delivery was possible in 25-30 days. Leidy Electric Company of Phillipsburg, NJ was listed as a sales agency. Is there any record of how many rigs like this Hahn built? (Help me out here Al) I only know of two, Union of Hamburg and Port Clinton's. Neat rig, somewhat ahead of it's time with the large "Booster" Tank, and it even has a bell in the ad!, Still, it's no Harwick.<img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Captain.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-03-2006 The Susquehanna FC of Columbia, PA operated this 1971 Mack CF 1000 gpm pumper. Gordonville, PA employed this GMC that was equipped with a 750 gpm front-mount pump and a hose reel that held (according to the notes written of the slide) 1 mile of 4" hose. Imagine having to pick up all of that after an extended operation in the month of February! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jawdrop.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Jack DeRosset pic/Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-03-2006 The Pocono Mountain FC of Mount Pocono, PA had this 1969 Dodge/Ward LaFrance 4x4 pumper.
