Here's a photo I took of Truck 6's 1967 ALF 90' Aero Chief, ALF #8-1-535, just before it was replaced in 1974. She looked a little rough at the time.

Anyone know the height of the boom? Looks taller than an 85 footer

Who can argue that the stuff from 60's and 70's were straight up war wagons. Love the look of wagons that have that well used look

Let me know what you thing of this rig, and any information on it.

NY Shelter Island

1932 Mack 50 BG #1051
Shelter Island, Long Island New York.

Its the island located between the twin forks on the eastern end of Long Island. This truck is still owned and retained by the department as a parade truck. I believe it was the first "New" piece of apparatus purchased by the Shelter Island "center" FD. There were two departments on the island prior to a merger in the 1990's the SI "Hieghts" and "center" fd's.

I believe that this truck is currently being restored.

That's because it's a 90-footer (see original post)!
Ah, that's what Aero Chief 90 means! Your right, 5 feet longer than 85!

I have this NJ tag's Ahrens Fox as Union fire co. Any one know where it is from?
Its a 1923 Ahren's Fox owned by the Union Fire Company-Lambertville NJ. It was recently refurbished and is now housed in its own bay/museum following a major addition to the firehouse.

I thought I posted this before, but I could not find the post. I had it listed as a Pirsch, but the photo has Ahrens Fox (I cropped this out) in the bottom.

I also like the vintage backround, I assume this is buildings where the AF company was located, in Ohio

Maybe SPAAMFAA spelled it wrong but it was East Paterson with one "t" just like the neighboring big industrial city that it was semi named for. East Paterson's voters decided to change the name to Elmwood Park back in the 1960's. It is served by four all volunteer companies.
