Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - mnsand - 10-24-2010 Rear of Engine 1102 Mike Sanders Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - mnsand - 10-24-2010 Final of the new E-1102. Mike Sanders Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - mnsand - 10-24-2010 Natural Bridge's old Jeep is now privately owned in the Winchester area. It is a 1979 Jeep 80gwt that was originally painted yellow and white and run by Franconia, VA Company 5 (Fairfax County). It then went to Natural Bridge who repainted it to red and white. Natural Bridge was trying to figure out what color their apparatus should be. They since went to yellow and white, the color the Jeep once was. Now privately owned, it was repainted a deeper red and "dressed up" a bit. Mike Sanders Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - mnsand - 10-24-2010 The back end of the 1979 Jeep. Mike Sanders
GREAT looking piece and a GREAT photo. Mike Sanders
How dose any one work off of that thing? You need a ladder truck just to pull a line. Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Roto-Ray - 11-02-2010 How about another white-over-yellow engine with blue stripes? Augusta County Fire-Rescue is one of the 24 fire-and-rescue stations within Augusta County, VA. They've recently taken delivery of this rig, which will probably enter service in the next couple of weeks. Augusta County Fire-Rescue, Company 10 Engine 102 2010 Spartan/Rosenbauer 1500/750 Rosenbauer #15095 Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Roto-Ray - 11-02-2010 Also in Augusta County, the Churchville VFD (Company 4) has recently received this brush truck. Well, it's designated as a brush truck, but it's more of a mini-pumper/mini-squad. Nevertheless, it's designated Brush 42. Churchville VFD Augusta County, VA Brush 42 2010 Ford F550/M&W 500/250/30 Churchville also operates two Sutphen pumpers and a Mack/New Lexington tanker. Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Roto-Ray - 11-02-2010 Weyers Cave's rigs have been featured in a number of publications, and also several times here on Firepics. One of a handful of green departments in Virginia, they're especially eye-catching. WC Brush 55 was originally built by M&W in 2002 has an extended-cab pickup with a skid unit that was carried over from an older brush unit. A couple of months ago, they returned it to M&W and had the pickup body removed and a utility body installed. They're using the truck as both a brush truck and an ALS chase-vehicle now, so the extra compartment space was a necessity.
