Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - roadman - 08-22-2008 "Hate the lime, but love the chrome yellow" I agree! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Massachusetts Fire Apparatus - Guest - 08-25-2008
They did own a 1967 (with Young bodywork) and a 1972. Other than the "indent" under the door it still looks like a late 60's. The "indent" was more typcial on the wider 1970's cabs, but it can get confusing.
That and the size/shape of the jumpseat window, cab and fender width and placement of chrome strips and Maxim emblem on the nose. My guess it's the '72. They were "close to call", especially with open cabs! I recall a tanker, very similar to this sitting outside the Linebrook station during the mid nineties. Later on it was sitting in a field at a farm on 1A near the Rowley town line. Again excellent photos, until now I never knew Essex had this piece.
