Hey Guys:

I have a Hahn advert from August, 1950 Fire Engineering Magazine describing Port Clinton's (and similar rigs, the one shown in the photos is unlettered), on a Ford chassis, with the capacity of the Ingersoll-Rand Pump as being 500-750-1000 gpm, and a Borg-Warner pump transmission. Price was $6550.00!!!!!! Delivery was possible in 25-30 days. Leidy Electric Company of Phillipsburg, NJ was listed as a sales agency. Is there any record of how many rigs like this Hahn built? (Help me out here Al) I only know of two, Union of Hamburg and Port Clinton's. Neat rig, somewhat ahead of it's time with the large "Booster" Tank, and it even has a bell in the ad!, Still, it's no Harwick.<img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Captain.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Captain' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='3_12_21' />
Jeff- I know of the followng Ford/Hahns of this design:

Port Clinton

Union-Hamburg- had two of these-both 1951 Ford Big Job F-7s

Brandonville (Schuylkill Co.),PA

Klingerstown (Schuylkill Co.),PA

West Wyomissing (Berks Co.),PA 1953 Ford F-7 Darley Champion pump

Hahn built a custom pumper-tanker of this design in 1949 for Friendship-Morgantown (Berks Co.),PA which replaced the unsuccessful Spangler Dual. It had an Ingersoll Rand pump but it was a midmount.

This Hahn is an 84-92 model, the rear cab canopy being wider than the front. It was delivered 3-1-83 as 1250/750. Schwenksville (Montgomery Co.),PA purchased it at a reduced cost because it had been a demonstrator. In 1997 it was updated to accomodate 5 inch LDH.
