Relics - GA_Dave - 08-17-2010 Quote:What caught my eye was this 1970 ALF/1985 Greenwood Fire Apparatus from North Attleborough out front of the store This was originally built as an Aero Chief 90. Relics - Guest - 08-17-2010
Th ALF from Hudson, NH is still across the street, only it is not visible from the road anymore. The woman in the store told me it was there, its behind a mound of dirt/ rotten apples
Check this page out: http://hudsonfirefighters.com/retired_apparatus.htm It looks like this tractor was replaced in 1977 and it lived on with an International tractor until 1998.
Thanks for the link. Relics - 1958 F.W.D. - 08-18-2010
The final rig in the lot was this once-proud ALF JOX operated by the Baker Heights, WV fire company.
Is this a JOX or a 700 series??? I thought the JOX's had a more flattened out and squared off front???????? Relics - Guest - 08-18-2010
Is this a JOX or a 700 series??? I thought the JOX's had a more flattened out and squared off front????????
And, I understand that JOX was only used for mid-mount ladder trucks. Mike Sanders Winchester, VA
Jesus might have saved but Espo scored on the rebound............................... Relics - marco17 - 08-21-2010 Los Angeles County Fire 21 - 1981 American LaFrance Century Pumpers and 3 - American LaFrance Aerial Ladders. All are out of service awaiting disposition. Relics - marco17 - 08-21-2010 A photo of one of the [3] retired LACoFD ALF Aerials. Unfortunately the pen was locked up and I was unable to get any good shots. Relics - 1958 F.W.D. - 08-22-2010 Joel Bain, regarding the last two posts: NO! Relics - marco17 - 08-22-2010
Joel Bain, regarding the last two posts: NO!
He can't buy directly from LACoFD anyway...lol! They've been sitting there for a couple years now. Usually, LA County auctions their rigs off a lot sooner than this. Relics - Truckman - 08-23-2010
Is this a JOX or a 700 series??? I thought the JOX's had a more flattened out and squared off front????????
The JOX did have a flat front, nose. Look in the AmericanLaFrance thread.
