Illinois - photog999 - 12-18-2010 Here's a dreaded station shot of their reserve truck. There were no serial numbers to be found on this truck. Hillsboro Fire Dept. Truck 609R 19?? Oshkosh/Pierce 1500/200 85' Snorkel X-Hazelwood, MO Illinois - photog999 - 12-18-2010 Here's a shot of the Hillsboro truck in it's Fairview lettering. This photo was taken in 1995. Illinois - photog999 - 12-18-2010 One more for Effingham. This was taken at the Illinois fire Chief's Conference in 2009. Truck 552 2009 Spartan/Ferrara 1500/500 75' RM Last one tonite. Lots more to come including a trip back into the '80's and early '90 around the Chicago area. Illinois - GA_Dave - 12-18-2010 Quote:Greenville Fire Prot. Dist. This rig originally ran as Truck 10 in Columbus, OH. Illinois - Guest - 12-18-2010 As late as the early 90s the LaFrance, Seagrave, and Dodge/Pierce from Hillsboro (my hometown) were solid red with the old rotating light bars. I have some pics of them in a homecoming parade probably in 1989. Ill see if I can dig them up and scan them to put them on here. Also at that time period the 2 story addition was not there. Just the one story bays to the north, and there was a room for the fire/police dispatcher. I havent been to Hillsboro in many years. Did you get a tour of the station? Do you know what they do with the 2nd story? Did they put a pole in? Illinois - Guest - 12-18-2010 Nice Shots Dennis. Illinois - fyrfoto - 12-18-2010 Did you by chance get to Litchfield? I am always curious as some of these towns seem to squirrel away old equipment. I am curious if Litchfield still has there collection of old ALFs and an old Seagrave in addition to their new KMEs. I do not remember if they had put a pole in or not. They are still doing the dispatch for the police which I found very unique. J [/quote] Litchfield is on my list of departments to shoot as I work in Illinois during 2011. Thanks all for viewing. Dennis Illinois - photog999 - 12-22-2010 Another of my stops was at the Kinmundy-Alma Fire District and a big thanks to Chief Kevin Day for posing the rigs for me. I found this department to be very well equipped for the size of the towns they cover. Kinmundy-Alma Fire Prot. Dist. These pictures date back to the mid-80's when he first started photographing apparatus. A lot of the older stuff has no info so if anyone has the info feel free to share it. Bloomingdale Fire Prot.Dist. Engine 8 19?? IH/Bean (just a guess but the covered booster lines are fairly unique to them) John L. Tulipano photo. No other info.
