Is the top picture in this post an industrial type pumper? it appears to have an odd pump and hose configuration. Also, the pump panels on all these Crown pumpers seem to be abnormally far back. is this a crown trademark?

That's LAFD's manifold rig running as Wagon 17. It's a 1963 2000gpm Crown with a massive stang gun and something like 24 2.5" discharges to act as a manifold wagon for other pumpers at big fires. It was paired up with Pump 17, another 2000gpm but without the manifold. I think it replaced a late-30's ALF (I think) manifold wagon when it was bought.

This 1963 rig is now at LAFD's museum at old Station 27.

Thanks for the info!

That big Crown wagon replaced the Duplex wagon. Here's some info on the Duplex pumps:

I think the concept of the Crown was the same as the Duplex rigs.

Code 3 Collectibles made a yellow Crown with a Surf Board lettered for

of Crown's in Hawaii?

Per my HFD Roster of 1988, this is a 1973 ALF Pioneer 1250/300/100'.

Honolulu had 2 1965 Crowns as their Rescues. Rescue 1 out of Station 2 & Rescue 2 out of Station 31, as of 1988.
