Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - ShoreFire - 06-19-2011
COLONIAL BEACH, VIRGINIA WESTMORELAND COUNTY ENGINE 12 DAVE BOWEN PHOTO ANYONE KNOW ANY INFO ON THIS UNIT. Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - mnsand - 06-19-2011
Thats a Grumman emblem just foward of the rear wheel.
It is a 1981 Ford/Grumman 250/500. Mike Sanders Winchester, VA Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - davebowen - 06-19-2011 THANK YOU MIKE AND SHOREFIRE. Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 07-10-2011 Here's Virginia Beach's new rigs. Engine-6 Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 07-10-2011 Engine-11 Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 07-10-2011 Engine-14 Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 07-10-2011 Mathews County has added this engine to it's fleet. Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 07-10-2011 And here is Smithfields new heavy rescue. It is not yet in service but should be by the end of the month. A special thanks to Chief Jason Stallings, after several times trying to get together to shoot this, we finally managed to both be off and have the sun shining. Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Truckman - 07-10-2011 John, great photos as usual. Jason is a member of firepics as well. Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Ladder 68 - 07-10-2011 Great photos...thanks for sharing them. But a couple of questions if I can... Didn't Va Beach Engine 6 have a '06 Pierce Quantum? Where did their old rig go? And why the change to a larger booster tank rig? Any idea what the price of the Seagrave rescue was? Very sharp. Thanks in advance. Thanks in advance.
Eng-6's 06 Quantum will be going to Eng-5. Station 6 is in the south end of the city, very rural, no hydrants. Smithfields Seagrave was in the area of $676,000.00 Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 07-10-2011 GREAT SHOTS PAL! Interesting that the VA Beach rigs feature roto-ray's that enter the chauffeurs plane of vision. Up here in Fairfax that has been used as a reason to ban them on all new county rigs. Something about it distracting the driver, causing him/her to involuntarily veer off the road and run over elderly women hobbling down the sidewalk... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - ShoreFire - 07-10-2011 "ban them on all new county rigs" What a sad world we've become.......... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 07-10-2011
"ban them on all new county rigs" What a sad world we've become.......... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />
Yes it is sad. The last county rigs to feature them were the batch of 2005 Pierce Dash Engines. Volunteer rigs purchased since then that DO feature them are Rescue 401, Rescue 421 (I believe it be pre 2005 though), Engine 413 and the new Engine 421-Bravo. Let's hope for a change in opinion... Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - lawrencewhite111 - 07-11-2011 Does anyone know if the new Engine 423 which is getting a 2005 Pierce Dash know if it went into service yet? Virginia apparatus - miscellaneous - Guest - 07-11-2011
Does anyone know if the new Engine 423 which is getting a 2005 Pierce Dash know if it went into service yet?
Not sure. My understanding is they will receive Engine 430's recently replaced Dash. Engine 430's new Velocity IS now in service.
