The KME engines have been very problematic but then again, so have the newer ALF engines. Lately if you go to a fire you feel like you're in Brooklyn with all of the spare engines, numbered in the 200 series, on the fireground.

This photo is of Ladder 8, a 1990 Seagrave 100ft tiller. The picture was taken in the rear of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in the Germantown section of the city during one of the famed Philly bus trips of the '90s.

Here's some additional information on the previous five posts. The photos in post #308 and post #312 are Robrecht photos.

Post #308 - 1928 ALF, it was reportedly equipped with a 1400 gpm pump. Two were purchased and assigned to companies quartered downtown. The purpose for the bigger pump was to supply standpipes in the new high rise buildings being built.

Post #309 - 1935 Dodge. This piece was originally a police patrol wagon. It was converted to a light wagon by the department shops.

Post #310 - Water Tower 1. 1918 ALF tractor pulling an 1894 Hale tower. The tower was originally 55 feet but was rebuilt in 1902 into a 65 foot version. The photo was taken at the Broad Street Station fire on June 10, 1923.

Post #311 - 1941 Autocar. The photo shows one of thirteen pieces delivered. These rigs also had 100 gallon booster tanks.

Post #312 - Pipeline 3, 1927 ALF. The rig was originally assigned to Pipeline 1. It was reassigned to Pipeline 3 in 1938.
