There was a lot to see in Pine Grove. It was a busy day. Keystone State Relics - wardengine - 09-24-2006
Scott- additional info: This is a 1949 Ford F-/Hahn, 750/650. The front-mount pump is an Ingersoll-Rand Cameron. The full width enclosed body was just coming into being at Hahn when it was built. It has pump-and-roll capability therefore it is still in service and used for field fires. The ladders and hard suction slid into the body at the rear. The booster reel is in an open compartment at the back step. Port Clinton (Schuylkill Co.),PA is the next community north of Hamburg (Berks Co.),PA which was the home of Hahn. This truck is essentially unchanged from the time it was delivered.
al; believe it they still have it in the bay was there yesterday.they have this ford and the hahn lime green engine Keystone State Relics - Guest - 09-24-2006
al; believe it they still have it in the bay was there yesterday.they have this ford and the hahn lime green engine
Tom- The 49 Ford/Hahn is a classic, still used for field fires. When Hahn built it they were uisng a raised encircled rooster ornament on the hood front. One of these is on this piece. The word for rooster in German is Hahn. Al Keystone State Relics - truck1882 - 10-01-2006
The 7th District VFC of Ross Township, PA ran this IH squad. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I have to ask some late questions on some photos. These might have been answered already later in the post but I am going through in order, and thought I best ask before I forget. I don't have any information for a 7th District fire company, or a Young Township Fire company in Coal Run. I just want to confirm what counties they may have been in. If anyone can I would greatly appreciate it. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 10-01-2006 Both of the Stations that you have questions about were part of mergers in recent years. I'll see if I can find what stations are what now days. Keystone State Relics - LarimerSta1 - 10-02-2006 Sorry to jump in front of you Mr. Shoop! Coal Run, Station 290, merged with the former McIntyre VFD, Station 300, in the 2003-2004 range. Both of these fire departments, along with Iselin, Station 310, and West Lebanon, Station 320, are in Young Township, Indiana County. The merged fire departments now run out of Coal Run's station; McIntyre's is now a machine shop. Ross Township, Allegheny County, has eight fire departments: Evergreen, Berkley Hills, Perrysville, Quail, Fairview, Seville, Keating, and Laurel Gardens (Stations 21-29). This list came from the "old days" before Allegheny County kind of switched to a numbering system. I believe, don't quote me, that 7th District is Keating. I hope this helps. I have several Jeffersons around the state, and wondered what county it might be in. Thanks. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 10-04-2006 Jefferson Fire Co. is in Greene County, PA. Brady Fire Company, Coal Township, Village of Ranshaw. Just lost there fire station in the last couple weeks, actually the social hall portion of the building was gutted by a mid day fire. This is Northumberland County, 1975 Ford C/Bruco 1000/1000. It was replaced with a Ferrara. Rescue of Sunbury still operates this 1948 Maxim engine 750/500, as a reserve engine. Mountaintop Fire Co Fairview Twp operated this 1989 Pierce Dash engine with a 1250/1000, and it was sold to Warrior Run Fire Co, also of Luzerne County, not the Warrior Run in Northumberland. I hope this helped out some. Mattson Collection
This 1972 GMC T/Bruco 500/1500 tanker was operated by the Nittany Valley Fire Company of Clinton County (barely, right ont he Center County line at Interstate 80 Lamar interchange). It came from Warriors Mark, and I don't know where it went too. It was purchased new by the Oreland VFC (Montgomery Co.),PA for $7000. In 1979 it was retired from active service after which it was restored and retained as an antique. In 1997 another extensive restoration was initiated. This is still underway by the fire company members. Keystone State Relics - Guest - 10-09-2006 Thanks to Al and everyone else that has provided info for these posts! It's appreciated.
