Nice pics dude!
No they are staffed 24/7 except for station 6, the double engine companies are at engines 1,4,7, and 6. Engine 6's engine is only in service monday thru fri 7am to 5pm. SlipperySam's Fire & EMS Apparatus Photos - Guest - 06-24-2010 Nice pics! I see Fire Wagon 7 was there long enough to get the shots that Engine since being placed in service has had at least 15-20 fires with it. Unheard of here in Baltimore County. Had the chance to ride a night there a while back and the guys were great. On that too are all stations similar in design to 3's? I ask beause the design and layout was way different it seemed but really cool. Station 3 was built when there was lots of money in the county. Station 2 is close in design, but since then the county has started building stations a little smaller and not as fancy. Hope this helps SlipperySam's Fire & EMS Apparatus Photos - Ladder 68 - 07-03-2010 Thanks for the info. The split level design and huge bays was very different from what I am accustom to. On that note about Balto County, whats the deal with the BC's? I was told over dinner at 3's that there are 3 BC's on duty per shift. Out of those 3 one is a "Sr." BC and functions as the defacto Shift Commander and responds to multiple alarms, etc. in that capacity. Is this correct? Thanks in advance.
we used to have 6 battalions and have since down sized to 3. we used to have 3 division chiefs that over saw the entire county in field operations, not counting support staff. originally there was going to be one division chief per shift. that way always had a senior officer working on one of the four shifts. since then through retirements and sor forth we are down to two division chiefs in field operations that work in the field. due to our current budget issues they wont be filling it anytime soon. so the third spot that is open is being used by an acting chief. umong his duties the division chief runs the battalion when he works handles all admin issues on or off duty etc. if there is an additional alarm and he is alerted he would run the fire once he arrives. sometimes the incident will remain under the command of the first arriving battalion chief. sound kinda of confusing if it is im sorry IM me and maybe i can walk you through a little better.
