DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 08-02-2012 And directing big water operations when someone can't figure out which hole the 5" goes to, plus running virtually every special event in the city 24/7. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 08-02-2012 That 'splains it...Thanks ResQguy DCFD Photos, old or new - Fire28 - 08-02-2012
And directing big water operations when someone can't figure out which hole the 5" goes to, plus running virtually every special event in the city 24/7.
Special Events..... thats a freaking full time job right there. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 08-05-2012
And why does he/she need a dedicated vehicle?
Its the only unit left from the CSU program. Back when the FD and DC water were battling over fire hydrants. DCFD Photos, old or new - tcosgrovejones - 08-05-2012
Tim, if you know more about it please share. For the last 20 years it was believed that a member of FFA who's name escapes me won it in a raffle. It was donated to the National Firefighter's Parade committee and passed on to FFA/DCFD after the dissolution of the parades. Let me tell you it's a bitch to drive up 13th St until you get into 4th gear.
I want to say it came from TT's Brother. As for the FFA member winning a rig in a raffle that story is true. However the righ he won was a 37 Seagrave. The one that I now own. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 11-19-2012 i believe six came in and i'm sure 19's is broke. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 11-19-2012 They seem to break quite often. I've only photographed 3 of the 6 because they are shop queens. Not sure what is happening with 19's. it has heavy damage from an MVA. DCFD Photos, old or new - cml0774 - 11-19-2012 Wait your trying to tell me the Pierce engines are shop queens; no way i thought only all the other fire apparatus manufactors only broke down. DCFD Photos, old or new - SrFireOfficial - 11-19-2012 News Flash: They all break. DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 11-23-2012 So are they OOS because of pump issues or chassis problems ? I'm specifically interested in the pumps ... DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 11-23-2012 I haven't heard anything regarding pump issues. Everything I've heard is based off the size, motor, and electrical systems. And yes, I do know that all manufacturers break. I'm glad that captain obvious could point that out for me. These new engines are very problematic compared to the 03 Pierce Dashs, that seem to still be running strong, DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 11-24-2012
So are they OOS because of pump issues or chassis problems ?
Awwwww c'mon; <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/22_yikes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> that'll buff right out. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> DCFD Photos, old or new - jim kay - 11-24-2012 Just a minor plumbing repair.... <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> DCFD Photos, old or new - Roto-Ray - 11-24-2012 Pierce's new angled intakes help reduce friction loss and back injuries as well. DCFD Photos, old or new - Frank B - 11-24-2012 just put the cap back on.... DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 11-25-2012
Pierce's new angled intakes help reduce friction loss and back injuries as well.
That is a Waterous S101C20 pump, Pierce had nothing to do with that intake. Some of the newer FDNY Seagrave pumpers have the same ram horn style intake. DCFD Photos, old or new - YeOldeEnjine - 11-25-2012
That is a Waterous S101C20 pump, Pierce had nothing to do with that intake. I'm pretty sure Taylor's comment was said in jest, seeing that the intake is busted / broken off from the pump's main extension casting.........and there is other obvious damage to the pump panels and pumphouse structure......... Tim W. DCFD Photos, old or new - Roto-Ray - 11-25-2012 Tim's right, just a little humor on my part... |
