TEXAS RIGS - senatobiafire704 - 04-03-2011

I ran across these ex-Plano, TX rigs while on my way back from Destin, FL today. They are at a used dealer in Seminary, MS (Deep South Fire Trucks). I was not able to get any info on these rigs, but I'm sure Lindsay or someone will be able to enlighten a little more. I thought anyone interested may want to see where these rigs are today...

First up is a ALF/Genenral Squirt...

The last of the ex-Plano rigs were 2 trucks that were for sale. I'm sorry about the quality of these shots; however, they were all kind of bunched together. I was only able to get 1 photo of each of the trucks...

These are 1998 ALF-General Safety models 1250-500-50' TeleSqurts. The only number I have is General Safety number 43575W on the one that was formerly Engine 2. The Squrt at Engine 2 was replaced o/a 11-1-10.

This looks like former Truck 5. It is a Spartan-Smeal 1250-500-105' RM. I think Plano had two of these-one at Truck 4 and one at Truck 5. The Smeal number I have for Truck 4 is #592010. Truck 4 had a Q on it and siren speakers thru the bumper on the right side. A picture that Bob Knowles (firepics member biotelbob) sent me of Truck 5 shows it without a Q and the siren speakers thru the left side of the bumper.

The truck on the top did have a Q on it, so this would be both Truck 4 and Truck 5. Thanks for the reply.

I believe Deep South bought both Spartan/Smeal aerials, The Pierce Arrow/Smeal aerial, both the 98 and 2001 ALF tele squirts and one of the ALF pumpers. a Friends volunteer department was trying to purchase at least one of these trucks but DS bid them through the roof.
