i think thats used as a step for some of the compartments.

Looks like similiar #'s to 63-Engine, with the black/white.

I think the explosives unit has been around since the early 40's. They regulate the explosives in the city used by contractors and construction companies.

My guess is its just a company thing. Engine 201 has similar graphics.
